You should either get tickets now (for best seat selection), or get them the morning of the game (for best price on the few seats left).

On Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, hundreds of yankee or astros fans will suddenly decide to plan a trip to KC.

All games are sold out. If you see a ticket on Royals.com, it is someone who decided to re-sell their ticket through the Royals for some reason instead of stubhub. You need to be very lucky (and very fast) to buy a ticket on royals.com.

The few playoff tickets that weren't bought up by season ticket holders were sold off to a few Royals fans who won a ticket lottery.

I'd buy now before Yankee fan drives it up.

The prices are not going to climb, but they will reduce the selection so you won't have as many choices.

What happened last year was the tickets were listed for absurd prices, selling slowly, then there was a small flurry after the opponents bought a few, but there has always been about 800-1,000 tickets left on the morning of the game, and the people holding those tickets start to sweat and lower prices to get rid of them as the clock ticks.

Just checked stubhub, and prices are already lower than about 5 days ago. Hy-Vee box at around row H in the infield was in the $200-210 range. Now its about 170-180.

The price will still be very high the day of the game, but maybe they will be closer to 140 or 150. (and maybe a lot lower an hour before gametime)

I just checked the Cardinals on Stub Hub, difference in a SRO ticket is about $40 right now with the Cards being cheaper.
