not that the D has been terrible, i just assumed the pass d, was less than spectacular.

We didn't force many INTs that year but overall the pass defense was pretty spectacular

you have to forgive me in some ways. last year, i was all in on the chiefs, but after they lost those five straight, it was tough for me to get up at 3am to watch what i thought was a losing effort.

i dont think i started watching again until they won three or four in a row.

Something I've noticed about the run D:

DJ didn't play very disciplined in the first 2 games. He got caught over-pursuing several times. Maybe he was trying to compensate for the young guys playing opposite him, or maybe he's just too amped up. He did seem to settle down against the Bears.

Hopefully this is a case of the guys just playing too excited, and they'll settle into their responsibilities with time. The run D was good last year and there's no reason that they shouldn't be this year.

I thought the same thing, and am worried this is where Berry is going to be rusty at. Not necessarily with his stamina or instincts, but just the little nuances of an NFL game that take those preseason reps to get the hang of again.
