Why would you fly over to the US and eat fast food? Hit up some local favorites, especially in Florida where you can get some really great fresh seafood.

I love Seafood and will be checking those type of places out too.

Good grief, avoid fast food as much as possible.

There's Mexican, Cuban, steakhouses and seafood restaurants all throughout southern Florida. Depending in which hotel chain you're staying, you'll probably find better and more affordable breakfast food at places like Waffle House or Denny's, as they're generally overpriced and eggs are just eggs.

And Chipotle is about as Mexican as I am, which is not at all. Blech.

Waffle House - Fried pork chops, eggs, hash browns smother and covered, with a waffle and a bowl of Burts chili. Breakfast of champions!

That's cool, I wasn't saying I would only eat fast food but will be having some. But will be going for more expansive evening meals. So Mexican, Cuban and Chinese,Seafood will all be on the menu.

My main point was there are lots of places like Sonic, Popeyes, DQ, LC not in UK so was just after any recommendations which some have supplied.

Get a corndog from Sonic, take the stick out and stuff it into the middle of a Hardee's loaded omelette breakfast sandwich. Get an order of Chik Fil A nuggets. Stuff all of those inside of a Subway footlong tuna sandwich. Top with fresh out of the fryer McDonalds fries.

Enjoy the real American experience.

If you don't eat at a Waffle House all hungover while you're here, you're a limey tart.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

In order to make it Authentic American, I think you're supposed to dip that in a Frosty before taking a bite, or something like that.

You'll be in my neck of the woods then.

So, as I mentioned, you should definitely try Five Guys for burgers and fries, Tijuana Flats for "Mexican", and Popeyes for chicken.

Landry's and Joe's Crab Shack are good options for fresh seafood.

I think the problem is that the American fast food experience has been dramatically diminished over the last 25 years and many of us that frequent the board are old enough to know it. Literally every aspect of the experience has declined.

Definitely hit a 5 guys for burgers, and a Chik Fil A for a chicken sandwich or two. I'll think of more but those two are at the top of my list for first timers. Popeyes chicken is good, if you've got a BoJangles give it a go as well and get you a sweet tea. I read your post in a British accent by the way. I may have to vocaroo it and post that shit.

Here's the good news, chap. We'll point you to places that serve pizzas that actually look like the ones you see in those commercials. You'll come back telling us "Good show!"

QDoba might not be the most 'authentic' Mexican you'll ever come across, but their Steak Fajita Burrito with a double scoop of extra-hot salsa is one of the most addictive things I've run into in all of fast casual.

cilantro-lime rice
queso fresco
fajita skirt steak
grilled peppers and onion
romaine
sour cream
salsa
