They're being ultra-cautious, he had a dramatic impact on a few of those minimal touches Quote:
Not to knock West in any way, but he isnt our fastest RB |

I don't know why guys like you are living in the past but Jamaal Charles after two ACL injuries at age 29 is not the 25 year old Jamaal Charles of 2012 or the 23 year old Jamaal Charles of 2010. He'll be 30 in December and can't run without his knee swelling. From my POV, he's lost a step, as he was caught from behind on the one long play that he's had this season. That wouldn't have happened prior to 2014. West ran a 4.27 for scouts in 2015. http://rotoviz.com/2014/04/abilene-c...rty-yard-dash/ |

West hasn't looked as good lately
At this point i would prefer the extra power of Reaves more conducive to the PAP offense we are slowly developing(dragging Reid kicking and screaming the entire way, i might add) |
Charles hasn't been great for a while now. Time to move on.

Gotta admit that I wasnt aware of Wests 40 time though, thats blistering... but I have to echo Laz here and say that he hasnt looked too great thus far, but I'm willing to chalk it up to him not getting enough consecutive plays to hit a groove |
West's 40 was hand-timed, if I'm not mistaken, so it's basically worthless. But he probably is still faster than Jamaal at this point.
JC hasn't really been a burner since 2010. My God, he was fast as shit then, though. |

I think he is done |
Personally, I happy to see the Chiefs take a cautious approach in handling Charles and his injury. Absolutely no need to rush him back, ESPECIALLY with Ware being so effective! I see little upside in going with Charles until he's totally healed. If that's not for another month or so, fine.....heck, if he's out for the rest of the year, I can only imagine that his knee simply didn't heal quick enough to be effective. (Same thing goes for Houston too.)
We need these guys back at 100%, NOT 85%. Get 'em good and healthy and then and only then, get 'em on the field. And yes, you may even need to play them to see how far back they really are (like Charles), and if it shows that they're not ready, then sit 'em back down until they're more ready. I would hope that the Chiefs maintain this rather cautious approach to injuries. |
Better safe than sorry.
