He should be a minimal upgrade (Hell, a dead possum placed on the 50 yard line would be an upgrade over our current starters) but I don't expect him to be all that good after almost 2 years of non-action. I honestly expect him to come up injured in the first 1-2 games back.

At least the starters are playing and not taking up a roster spot as dead weight for close to 2 years.

I say he practices light but then I don't think he plays til wk 16 or 17.

But who knows...guess that will the be 1st 2nd 3rd - 100th question on everyone's mind once Chiefs practice resumes next Mon and he gets out onto the field and tests his foot out.

Frustratingly the Chiefs will probably be as cliche and beat around the bush as they can possibly be, without really answering anything.

I certainly wouldn't think the Chiefs would trot Berry out there 1st game back being a playoff game. That's a disaster waiting to happen. I would think the Chiefs would want a couple warm up games to get him back into the swing of things, get out on the field w/ the other guys, build whatever chemistry he can etc.

The story we're hearing is that he really wants to play, but medically can't. Are you suggesting that you think he could play, but is saving himself? If he could have played but optionally missed, and we could realistically be 11-0, then I'd be rather angry.

What if we still get the 1 seed and he is ready to go for the playoffs? Will you be ok with how things played out?

I went with Option 2. Just too pessimistic about him at this point. I'm afraid that if he does play, he's going to break again.

Would be thrilled to be proven wrong.

If recent history is any indication, Berry will come back only to reinjure himself in his first game back.

If I found out he could have been playing, no. At least not without some very honest explanation.

I don't like "ifs" with this team.

Went with minor upgrade, I'm obviously hoping for more... but the way things have went with him the last couple years, dont try and guilt trip me for being skeptical

Ok. I get that. Hypothetically if we finish with the 1 seed without him and medical professionals told you him sitting out increased his chances of lasting through the playoffs would that change anything?

I know I'm proposing best case scenario to defend Berry here but when I look at this, since it hasn't played out fully, the above is a possibility. Until it isn't I'm not gonna get too angry.

If we lose HFA then I'll start to change my tune, very much so if we lose on the road.

Happy the non-Haglunds got us to the playoffs and got us HFA, sure I'd be happy. In fact I'd be thrilled! And if Haglund comes back and tears it up (however that's defined [kanda subjective]), I'd be happy too. But I would sure want to know why they kept it a secret, which is why I'm pretty sure they'd never do that, even if true.

If we lose HFA, go into NE or Pitt and lose to Tom or Ben and their band of zebras, do you go off on Haglund? Not that Tom or Ben won't bring their zebras with them, look no further than last year's raping of the Chiefs in Arrowhead, but I think it's a little tiny bit harder.

King_Chief_Fan 11-24-2018 06:15 PM

I think he should stay home and nurse his owie.
He can be part of this championship by default and live with the fact that he added no value this year

Bump 11-24-2018 06:15 PM

I will be expecting pick sixes all day every day

You think last year was deliberate? Why would the league favor TEN over us? Tripplett is just an awful ref that got a reward by the league to ref that game. Reckless and unacceptable by the league, yes. Intentionally trying to let TEN win, I don't see why the possibly would want that. Nobody looked forward to the TEN vs. NE game.
