That’s where things get tricky. I don’t really love the idea of a big extension.

Sell him on winning a Super Bowl, and if it doesn’t work, so be it.

I'd also tell him that he'd be the most popular, and most valuable, PP in town!

That's damn near a given that he'll want a new contract.

Multi-million dollar PP!!

I get that he is a great CB and has been so consistent but at the end of the day, he is 29 years old playing the CB position, where we see plenty of players decline sharply around 30 years old.

He is not worth anything more than Peters, who was a top 10 CB, 25 years old and still on his rookie contrat at the time Veach traded him.

So I'm good with a 2nd and 4th in 2020, which is more than what this team got for Peters, but anything more nope!

It doesn't make much difference but Arizona is not trading from a position of strength either as it's clear Peterson has made up his mind that he is leaving.

This. I don't ever want to watch a defense like last year again. It was just awful. Ruined what should've been the best Chiefs season ever. Well it kind of was the best season anyway. But shit like that Chargers game at home is shit I cant stand seeing.

True. You have to make money on that PP, not pay too much for PP... That's what desperate folks do

Ok he's better at the position than Peters is....he actually doesn't give up catches instead of just making big plays.

So, since I have dumbass Carcosa blocked I can't read what was in the OP. I went to CBSSports.com and found an article called 7 trades that make sense. I assume that's the right article? If it is, then I found some interesting things in there. Mainly that he had 2 years left on his contract at $11 and $12 million. Now, I'm guessing that he would want a new contract as part of the trade. Should the Chiefs give him a new contract right away if they make the trade? I mean, nothing has been said about why he wants out of Arizona. But I'm guessing money because of his snakes in the grass comment. That makes me think that he was promised a rework on his deal and the Cards changed their minds. I don't know. Is there anything out there to support that idea?

2 years left on his contract? By the time it expires, the earth will be 602 years old!!!!!

AdolfOliverBush 05-09-2019 12:21 PM

I'd make the move, even at the expense of the 2020 1st. Fuller needs to be in the slot as much as possible, Ward is unproven, and Breeland isn't exactly a lockdown CB. Not much can be done to improve the LBs at this point, but PP would round out a completely revamped secondary via talent and leadership. Combined with the new coaching staff, this defense may give us a Woodrow that can cut diamonds.

Not for a first.

If we get PP............

Our defense "Could" be top 10 next year.
