If he doesn't retire, he's definitely coming to KC, right?

LMAO They're still mad.

Hurts was 7 for 20 when he was replaced, so it’s ridiculous to pretend that he was hot or even playing well

I know that. That doesn't mean it's a good look for your coach to lose your QB and then your most respected veteran captains. By the way, the look on hurts face suggests he was pissed as hell too.

Woah.

7 of 20? Like 35% 7 of 20? Or some other kind of weird advanced stat 7 of 20.

Because 7 of 20 is really ****ing bad.

But they were still in it. Yeah, Hurts wasn't playing great, but he was playing well enough for them to score two TDs. And they were just 3 points from tying it. Bringing in Sudafed at that point was disastrous.

7/20 for 72 yards and a INT. This wasn’t an unreasonable decision.

Had 2 TDs rushing.

Hurts played through the 3rd quarter and finished 7 for 20 for 72 yards and a INT. Those are pretty awful numbers so it’s really not as crazy as the controversy is being portrayed.

I mean, if he was 21/28 with 248 yards and a 2 TD’s, sure, that would be egregiously mysterious and head scratching but 7 completions through 45 minutes???

The funny thing is winning the NFCE is a bad thing this year. It’s the biggest L in the division.

None of the teams are good enough to win it all, and the Redskins have now ruined any chance they had at a QB barring a huge trade up.

morphius 01-04-2021 01:13 AM

To me it wasn't a big deal. Getting into the playoffs is nice and all, but with a 6 win season, come on. Only 8 teams in the league had a worse record than that. Week 17 lots of funny things happen, teams rest a lot of players, lost have they shouldn't. Etc, etc.

kccrow 01-04-2021 01:23 AM

Was it to:

Get the 6th pick instead of the 9th?

or

Try winning with a guy that isn't 7 for 20 in the game?

or

Legitimately wanting one last look at Sudfeld in game action?

or

All of the above?

Kudos Philly. Kudos.

Ya I mean you hold players out when there is a competitive reason to do so IE they’re nicked up and/or need rest going into the playoffs. That’s what the Chiefs and Steelers did and then they both tried to win.

The Eagles had no reason in that sense to play a placeholder everyone knows isn’t the future. His performance wasn’t even respectable which made it all the worse. They stood no shot with him in there and anyone watching or playing the game could see that as well as the fact they were in the game with a real chance with Hurts who actually conceivably could be the future and is worthy of those snaps for the reasons ascribed to why they played the scrub.

This has nothing to do with the Giants or their record. Pederson lost his locker room last night and rightfully so. Guys have pride they want to win games. Same reason the Jets didn’t fold.

Thats true but also not how winners think (locker room mentality not record)

7-9 Seahawks parlayed such an opportunity into a playoff win and I’m guessing if you asked them at the time as well as the Redskins now they’d tell you they’re trying to win a Súper bowl and believe they could as well.

If it were me I’d tweak the playoff rules so that div winners must be 9-7 or better and if not I’d give their PO berth to another wild card with a better record assuming one exists.

What the Eagles did was a joke but so is the notion of the Giants or Redskins in these playoffs to begin with.

You saw Hurts numbers? It’s not like they were pulling a real quarterback.
