I don't think you should limit what people are able to buy however if you want to drive your car like a race car, then you should take it to the track where everyone expects you to drive it that way.

You know what they say about men who have to drive fast cars...

It's not legal to drive over 100mph anywhere so no one is getting nerfed.

How do you limit the power and still allow for towing, hauling and other vehicle uses without adding more things to go wrong and making them more expensive?

Maybe stupid people should just be paid to be neutered instead of taking down others to their level of incompetence.

I would question why 150mph is even neccessary.

It’s a nice waypoint on the way to 200.

had an old camaro that when it hit over 110 the engine would get killed

talk about shit yourself, get it up to 111 and the engine died which caused the steering wheel to lock. luckily it was a stick shift so pushing the clutch in and dumping it started the car right back up. ****ing terrible feature

cars should be able to go as fast as they can, if you can pay for the ticket take the ride just don't drink and drive

Do I look like a gat damn automotive engineer?

Again, I'm not advocating for anything like this, I just thought it was an interesting question.

Will say modern sports cars can get up to 100 mph without you even noticing and it is a bit scary. Last few weeks I've been driving back and forth from Boise to Baker City Oregon for work in my 2015 Mustang GT, and just today on the way home I had it at a little over 110, didn't even realize it until I looked at the gauge. The car is just so well built for those speeds, it doesn't feel unnatural.

Yep, the only time my car really has to work on a consistent basis is up the steeper grades in the mountains, or else I can cruise at 80+ and it's at like 2000 RPM (well, maybe not that low).

Yeah, I typically keep it at 15mph over and they don't care... I'll slow down to about 5-10 over as a courtesy/"please don't pull me over" when I see them. Completely different from the midwest where +8 is stretching it and +10 is practically a guaranteed ticket.

And up I-17 where it's 75 and you're at ~85-90, it's not that hard to hit 100 when passing all of the assholes in the left lane, but other cars are 80-85+, so it's not like you're flying by (and I slow down around the trucks that are crawling up the mountain, of course).

I like how highway patrol just parks and sits on the side of every highway entering the city.

"Alright, ****sticks, you are within city limits now. Slow down."

I think we should ban spoons and forks except for small ones less than a 1/2 of teaspoon or 3 small fork prongs, to keep folks from dying from obesity...

Understood.

I just don't advocate limiting competent people to the level of stupid people in any way.
