The seventh playoff team was a rule change proposed by the Kansas City Chiefs. The first time there was a vote for Chiefs proposal for a 7th playoff team in each conference and it was voted down at the NFL meetings, I remember posting that if it were voted yes, I supposed there would be 2 Saturday games, 3 Sunday games and a game in Monday Night timeslot on wildcard weekend.

I think a Monday Night game is better than 3 Saturday games.
