I’m good with bringing him back.

Cut Hitchens.

That right there should put us at around $40 million in cap space. Extend Hill and lower his cap hit this year.

Re-sign Brown.

Then follow Chris Meck’s plan from above.

here's my last mock draft, just as an example:

KC
40.

Perrion Winfrey
DT Oklahoma-Chris Jones clone
trade icon
KC
64.

Myjai Sanders
EDGE Cincinnati-elite athlete at DE
KC
75.

Nik Bonitto
EDGE Oklahoma-Micah Parsons type LB; can flip flop from WILL to SAM with Gay. Good pass rusher, and can cover, too.
trade icon
KC
97.

Alec Pierce
WR Cincinnati-big X receiver.
trade icon
KC
134.

Yusuf Corker
S Kentucky-aggressive SS type; no more Sorensen.
KC
177.

Christian Watson
WR North Dakota State-6'5" 208, runs a 4.4. Doooood.
trade icon
KC
232.

Kyler McMichael
CB North Carolina-press man corner.

I'd like RB that is a threat to take it to the house, but DE and WR is more pressing I'd imagine.

Even though it's only minor at this point, we're regressing. Super Bowl win, Super Bowl loss/blowout, AFC Championship meltdown/Divisional Round near miss. If you can't stop the bleeding next year, and we don't get back to the AFC Championship, you have to start thinking about hard decisions.

FringeNC 01-30-2022 07:38 PM

The subtractions are kind of obvious. Frank Clark gone, HB gone.

Hitchens, Reed, Sorensen, Niemann.

I think you missed the point.
If Andy hangs on to marginal coordinators or players, he is not making the best decisions for the team.
Spags is marginal and the team should not suffer due to Andy's loyalty to less than adequate staff. If Bieniemy is the play schemer and or caller, he has to go.

Coach 01-30-2022 08:19 PM

1. Designate post June 1 on Frank Clark. The Chiefs do incur a dead cap of $6,800,000 for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. But they do save $12,700,000 (for 2022) and $14,200,000 for 2023 season.

2. Cut Anthony Hitchens (or is it Bitchin'?). Chiefs save $4,217,426.

3. Absolutely refrain from resigning the following players (meaning, under no circumstances they should be resigned): Ben Niemann (UFA), DeMarcus Robinson (UFA), Andrew Wylie (UFA), and Dan Sorensen (UFA). They all need to hit the road.

4. Refrain from signing Tyrann Matheau if the money is too obscene. Really shouldn't be in the business of signing defensive backs on the wrong side of their 30's (there are a few exceptions, I get that).

5. As much as I hate doing this, they will likely have to resign Orlando. Teams don't give up multiple draft picks for a one-year rental. I still do not see him an elite LT, but it is what it is.

6. Do recommend resigning the following players: Charvarius Ward, Derrick Nnadi, Jerick McKinnon, and James Winchester.

That's all I can think of off top of my head.

Starting to look like EB's greatest asset is the fleeting remaining prospect of a draft pick if he ever gets hired away.

I still haven't heard a cogent reason for this argument.

We were #3 in YPG and #4 in Pts/Game while playing an incredibly difficult schedule. Chief Fan certainly seems to want him to go, though, so that we can promote Kafka. Does someone here have some inside info into why this is a good idea? I don't get it.

This but without the RT. We've proven we can manage with what we have on OL atm. Plus wouldn't hurt to give Niang another go. It's the other shit that has killed us.

ghak99 01-30-2022 08:28 PM

I'd like him to find EB a job somewhere. Anywhere.

Get rid of Clark, HB, and Hitchens while scouring FA for fresh meat.

Find that guy who used to tell Reid when to run the ball once or twice a game and rehire him.

Draft an edge, a big intelligent possession receiver, and a safety. No ****ing RBs in the first three rounds.

Andy, Mahomes, Hill, etc. have all spoken about EB's contributions and importance to the team. Clearly, if you respect these men, respect their assessments.

Titty Meat 01-30-2022 08:29 PM

Safety assuming they don't resign Mathieu
Another CB
2 DE's
WR
Speed back
