You can't put Maul in because he will confuse the Vader plotline.

Kind of agree with you but they set Maul up as the leader of his own criminal organization during Solo. Really wouldn't understand the point of that unless they planned to utilize him later, and there won't be a more perfect time than this series. May even be allied for a bit since by this point Maul hates the emperor just as much if not more than Obi Wan.

What's wrong there? There's not much they can improve upon as far as bringing Inquisitor into live action.

Well they could have cast someone with the right shape of head, or used some prosthetics, instead we got weird round-shaped head inquisitor
