People forget that we had LDT sitting rotting on the bench just about the entire season and still kept 4 TEs on the opening day roster (Kelce, Bell, Gray, Fortson). We kept 10 OL at cutdowns last year. We're prooooobably not doing that this year.

There's room to keep 4 TEs and 4 RBs not counting Burton. There will be some pressure if we want to keep an extra DB or DL guy, but I don't think the RBs/TEs is where you rob the extra slot.

Probably looking at TE 4 vs RB 4 to make the roster.

TE: Kelce is a lock (duh), Bell offers quality blocking and QB Sneak ability, Gray is excelling in camp and is a 2nd year 4th round pick we traded up for, and Jody was a fun story last year but is coming off a serious injury and has already been dinged up causing him to miss time in this camp.

RB: CEH is a lock, and I don't know who slots where after that.

I think it'll be Jody vs RB 4, and they'll duke it out during the next couple weeks.

RB 3. Jones is cut. TE 4 to make room for Fortson. WR 6 Powell/Foutain are 5/6.

The offensive skilled positions have a few spots up for grabs, but Gray, Fortson, Pacheco and Justin Watson are locks.

Personally, I think Watson has the edge on both Powell/Foutain. Toub seems to be high on him for one. That's huge for the back of the roster.

I can't see McKinnon getting cut no matter which way I look at it.

When he started playing at the end of the season and in the playoffs he immediately looked light years better than anyone else had looked the entire season. He ran fast and hard and he was freaking brilliant in the screen game.

I'm not one of the CP CEH haters, but if comes down to him or McKinnon I'm taking McKinnon every time. I know he has an extensive injury history - but I'd give him one more chance to show me those were fluke major injuries that no one could've avoided. It's not like CEH is an iron man, he's already had his share of injuries too.

I'm keeping McKinnon and Pacheco, and if we're only keeping 3 then it's between CEH and RoJo for the final spot.

Right. McKinnons thing has always been injuries. And CEH has had injuries. I could see availability being a deciding factor.

It’s some times ours junk that they’re running with that’s mediocre at best.

Earlier in the summer, Pete Schrager hung out in KC for a weekend with Veach, talked up Watson the next week on the show, that not only was Watson a roster lock, but that he would be a real contributor.

I could see that. I watched Watson's presser from a couple of days ago. Very impressive.

Would be beyond stupid imo. CEH AND Jet cannot be trusted to hold up for the entire season. So if both go down who have we got? Pacheco and Gore? Pacheco may be a stud but we dont know that yet. And last year they had Ceh, Jet, Gore and Williams on the roster so why take less now?

jjchieffan 08-05-2022 11:02 PM

I would think that RoJo or McKinnon would probably clear waivers and sign on the practice squad. I mean, McKinnon was just sitting around waiting a couple of weeks ago. Not much market for him. And if Jones was willing to take a 1 year $1.5M contract, he obviously isn't in demand either. Plus, Gore will probably end up on the practice squad to bring up if needed. So, 3 RB makes sense to me.

Rojo turned down other teams to come to KC and is not on a 1.5m contract. Expecting a superbowl winning RB who just turned 25 a few days ago to sit on our practice squad behind an average guy like CEH is insulting and would never happen...so please get a clue.
