My wife has given birth 3 times, a couple of ectopic pregnancies, but kidney stones were the worst thing she has ever went through. The drive to the ER sucked.

Driving myself to the ER wasn’t a smart choice.

Ya, i had to have one removed. It was so intense that i actually passed out from the pain at one point. Or so im told.

Feel for ya, bud.

OMFG

How in the hell?

My wife was curled up in a ball screaming and moaning the 35 minute drive up (we live in BFE).

3:30 in the morning no less.

Sounds about right , only 4 min drive though after waking up the wife to confirm that me pacing around the room at 1am looked like kidney stone she didn’t seem to interested in getting out of bed , Hippocratic oath doesn’t extend to husbands apparently.

Having shitty teeth and the fear of kidney stones (horror stories from coworkers) was enough to make me give up the sugar water.

I don't get how people "don't like water". My wife says this shit all the time and uses it as justification for drinking gallons of sugar water.

Uhhhhh then what do you expect to happen?

Fish 11-05-2022 11:28 AM

Don't like water? LMAO Over 60% of your body is water. Don't hate yourself, nut. Try one of those water flavor things where you put a couple drops of fruit flavor in it. You gotta drink enough daily water, it's incredibly important.

Learn to like it or you're gonna be pissing boulders the rest of your life. Pass a couple more of them kidney stones and there won't be much left of your dick to jerk off.

Pancreatitis is much worse than gout and very different.
I've had both, pancreatitis once from too much alcohol and gout about 8-9 times.

Gout is prolonged burning pain and inability to get rid of it. It's like having shards of glass lodged in your joints. Mine has been on toes, elbow and ankle at different flareups.

Pancreatitus is a mother ****er of sudden incredible pain that cuts across your abdomen for 30-60 seconds, feels like someone is twisting your upper GI into knots, takes your breath away, made me cry, and then goes away only to repeat this numerous times per hour for 16-28 hours. Your pancreas goes through spasms.

I don't want or need to get stones for comparison. I'll take everone's word on the pain.

Pancreatitis was a 15 on a 1-10 scale. I never want that again, ever. Not even for $5,000,000

I drink a gallon of water a day. No way I’m risking this.

What are you referring to, soda or tea?

'Hamas' Jenkins 11-05-2022 02:45 PM

Foods and beverage that are high in oxalate can lead to the formation of calcium oxalate stones, which are the majority of stone types. Leafy greens, tea, and chocolate all contain high levels of oxalate.

I've had them three times. I never found Flomax to be terribly effective, and some of its side effects suck.

Increased water intake and decreasing soda and tea consumption as SupDock mentioned, is the best course of action.
