I like what Trevor Lawrence has done this season. He's got a good coach and his offensive line has been built up pretty decently. He's not a sitting duck anymore with a coach asleep at the wheel.
I'm just not crazy about their receiving options. Marvin Jones and Zay Jones are fine, they're fine, but I don't think they can break you even on their best days. Christian Kirk is the kind of WR that has given us problems all season, but I wonder if McDuffie is a solution to that.
I think the biggest thing here is Travis Etienne. If he explodes, this game suddenly gets insanely competitive. But he's a finesse RB, and I think this team is built better for finesse run games than aggressive pounding rungames. Our linebackers (aside from Chenal, who honestly the Chiefs should bench for Harris) are pretty good at gap filling. Thornhill and Sneed in run support on the edges, I like our chances there.
The biggest solution to Etienne, though, is just Mahomes getting up early. If the Chiefs get up early and Lawrence has to win the game for the Jaguars, it's going to be a boatrace blowout for the Chiefs.
The Jags' defense is good against the run, but I actually think we can gash them on the ground. I like their DL, but I do think that if the Chiefs just decide to run Pacheco down Devon Hamilton's throat, I don't think they can stop us.
Obviously, so long as Mahomes stays clean against a decent passrush, he can pass anywhere he wants. But I think this is a game where Pacheco surprises everyone with a 16-carry, 100-yard game.
TL;DR: I think the Jaguars can challenge our defense, but Spags and crew should be up for the challenge. And I think Pacheco surprises everyone with a mean run game, and Mahomes plays a competent, quiet 250-yard passing game on like 21-of-27 passing or something like that.
