If we can shut down Derick Henry for an entire half when he was all they had to throw at us, then we "SHOULD" be able to stop Etienne. No jinx.

The Jags defense is pretty stout up front. I expect them to stifle our offense a little bit.

Great, so another 50+ throws from Mahomes.

And we're going to see a healthy dose of Etienne too. I think this game is a lot closer than people want.

For ****s sake! No we don't suck in Florida. This ain't the chiefs of the old days. And maybe look at a schedule.

That’s not saying much at this point. Everyone beats the Faid. Rumor has it the starters had a 17 point lead on their practice squad and still lost.

Honestly KC should win and win easily, but they also should have destroyed Indy. KC can’t (and don’t believe they will) overlook Jax.

IIRC, Bob Sutton was the DC for the Falcons in 2020 and they took us to the wire, holding the offense to 17 points or something like that.

Their HC is also Pederson so they've got a ton of familiarity with our offense.

KC lost to a team that fired its coach midway through the season. I hope they remember that every game the play going forward.

I like what Trevor Lawrence has done this season. He's got a good coach and his offensive line has been built up pretty decently. He's not a sitting duck anymore with a coach asleep at the wheel.

I'm just not crazy about their receiving options. Marvin Jones and Zay Jones are fine, they're fine, but I don't think they can break you even on their best days. Christian Kirk is the kind of WR that has given us problems all season, but I wonder if McDuffie is a solution to that.

I think the biggest thing here is Travis Etienne. If he explodes, this game suddenly gets insanely competitive. But he's a finesse RB, and I think this team is built better for finesse run games than aggressive pounding rungames. Our linebackers (aside from Chenal, who honestly the Chiefs should bench for Harris) are pretty good at gap filling. Thornhill and Sneed in run support on the edges, I like our chances there.

The biggest solution to Etienne, though, is just Mahomes getting up early. If the Chiefs get up early and Lawrence has to win the game for the Jaguars, it's going to be a boatrace blowout for the Chiefs.

The Jags' defense is good against the run, but I actually think we can gash them on the ground. I like their DL, but I do think that if the Chiefs just decide to run Pacheco down Devon Hamilton's throat, I don't think they can stop us.

Obviously, so long as Mahomes stays clean against a decent passrush, he can pass anywhere he wants. But I think this is a game where Pacheco surprises everyone with a 16-carry, 100-yard game.

TL;DR: I think the Jaguars can challenge our defense, but Spags and crew should be up for the challenge. And I think Pacheco surprises everyone with a mean run game, and Mahomes plays a competent, quiet 250-yard passing game on like 21-of-27 passing or something like that.

I think it's close through the first 3 quarters and then we pull away at the end.

Like a 34-21 type game.

The Jaguars are not the Titans -- they don't have a bevy of counter-moves against our weaknesses and their defense has several pressure points the Chiefs will pummel.

If the Chiefs get up two scores early against them, like they did this past week, the Jaguars aren't clawing their way back into this sucker.

Get up early and it's a boatrace.

****, we're going to lose by three touchdowns

St. Patty's Fire 11-08-2022 09:55 AM

this is probably gonna be a close game. the jaguars havent lost a game by more than one score this year, they’re better than their record might suggest.
