The Chiefs declined to pay Hill and traded him. They aren't gonna go buy a "#1" WR after letting the "#1" Wr in the league go.
They'll continue to draft a guy every year and sign next years JJSS |

If they want a #1 guy, get him in the draft. |

We can’t have speed guys with no size (and who have zero ball skills). A big guy like juju disappears in stretches because our speed guys are too easy to disappear. Their one dimensionality shines when we go through our slumps. You’re saying we don’t have money and yet can justify paying juju and Mvs $30m instead of a true WR1 who can do both jobs without all the disappearing acts. Why can’t we just have a decent size WR who has speed and has quality ball skills? While I’m fine with getting a #1 in the draft I don’t want to wait a whole year for Andy Reid to develop him. And we can’t risk him busting. We have the best qb in the world and won’t get him a WR1? Maybe we can both keep our fingers crossed that Justyn Ross can be healthy enough to be that guy. But how can anyone not look at the chiefs offense in the second half of the season and not realize that our receivers are a weak spot that our stud qb is covering up for |

Mahomes making a 'WR by committee' work to the tune of #1 scoring offense in football is ABSOLUTELY a long term strategy, and one you had better get used to. The only way this changes is if we draft and develop a star WR, which may well happen. We will NOT be going out and paying a FA WR twenty million plus. There's no reason to. It would be nice, a LUXURY even; but we saw that defenses could simply make Tyreek Hill a possession receiver (11 ypc last year.) We're more explosive WITHOUT Hill. It's crazy, but it's true. We've got holes-weak spots. OT is a problem. DE is a weak spot. We need more beef in the trenches. We can't keep our guys, plus shore up the weak spots, plus pay for a #1 WR (which we've shown we can thrive without.) So nah. Shore up the holes, keep the guys we want to keep, let the rest walk, sign some cheaper FA's looking to up their profile, draft a WR every year and let's roll. |

If the opportunity arises where you could sign Jamar Chase or whoever, sure. Look into it. I'm still concerned that once we get in the playoffs, you need a legit #1 dude, but we shall see.
They've gotta pay a LT and a DE. It's just a luxury that will have to come from the draft. |
When you have a committee WR core matched with an elite QB it works better.
If one goes down it's plug and play. Nobody is bitching about low targets, one guy can't be gameplanned out by the defense, pay gets spread out so that it's not a horrifying cap hit for a guy that gets injured. Chiefs are doing it right. |
#Chiefs HC Andy Reid says there are no injuries to report. Mecole Hardman will practice on Wednesday

Even if our offense is outstanding I know I’m not alone that we’ve seen plenty of it’s limitations. Hell, Toney isn’t a rock star and we’ve seen the complete 180 when he’s on the field. We saw it with skyy moore last week and against Tennessee. We saw it with Toney against LAC. We can’t just keep relying on these bolts of lightning in a bottle though. Yes the strategy works. Frankly we are better for it since losing tyreek. But there is no reason we can maintain efficiency while having a true WR1 who can bail out mahomes at least once in a while. Give him a guy who can go up for the ball. Who doesn’t need mahomes to do pocket gymnastics because our WRs can’t beat man coverage. We don’t have to have a Justin Jefferson. And before you say we can’t afford it, we could pay up to $30m to have two guys (juju + Mvs) who do the job of 1 DK metcalf. Why do we have several one dimensional guys who disappear in long stretches when most other teams have one guy who does both jobs? we have Patrick mahomes. The offense should run through him. Not through Pacheco and McKinnon and Noah gray. When defenses leave us no choice but to do that we are playing right into their own hands. |
Because it's not an unlimited resource game. It's a shell game. Money spent is money away from potentially spending.

Mahomes doesn’t need a top 5 Wr. But a mid tier WR1 would make a huge difference. And much as I like juju that is not the role he was meant to play. |

By your logic why couldn’t you use the draft to find a RT. Why couldn’t you find a good enough RT instead of the turnstile we have out there now? You’re plenty comfortable throwing lots of money at two tackles. I get that we can’t suck at certain positions like these. But I find it bizarre that we are so comfortable throwing all our money and resources at positions like this where solid would probably suffice but think it’s out of bounds to throw it at a player who mahomes can use as a weapon. |
