Chiefs acquire Hopkins before or during the draft and draft an edge rusher in the first round.

I think they get D-Hop also but go Anton Harrison in round 1 and a DE in round 2.

There isn't a WR in this draft that gives you what D-Hop would over the next 2 seasons, especially not with the mid to late round pick it would take to acquire him. Money aside, it's a no-brainer IMO. However, It'd be preferable to complete the draft and then offer one of next year's picks for D-Hop assuming his market remains minimal.

Great input.

Who’s paying D-Hops salary?

Wisconsin_Chief 04-22-2023 12:09 PM

Anton Harrison because you simply can’t let Mahomes keep being exposed like he has. If he wasn’t a mutant he would have been out for the playoffs after that Jacksonville game. It’s not fair to keep expecting that out of him. It’s irresponsible to go into the year without 2 top flight tackles protecting him. Have to make it a priority.

Too much drop off at the position after him and Wright. Plug and play starter for years to come and you protect the best player in football at all costs.

I actually think the Chiefs will trade up in the second round to get a defensive lineman or receiver they like even if it costs them draft capital in 2024.

Exactly. We have 2 picks in the 4th, 6th, and 7th. Bundle some and move up in the 2nd and 3rd, grab an EDGE and TE. This is not the year to stake a lot of draft capital on a WR. It's Mahomes that makes the O run.

Well, you can't put money aside. We simply do not have the cap space to acquire him without cutting talent.

The contract would be reworked.

By who, Jesus? Chiefs have no money to pay what D-Hop wants, and still need enough $$$ to pay the draft class.

Right now I think it's Jordan Addison.

If he falls Quentin Johnston in a trade up ~10 spots

If not I think we go DE from Kansas State and get WR in the 2nd/3rd (Mingo)

I understand that, but it’s not happening.

We'll see. We are as likely a landing place as any since he won't be returning to Arizona.
