He was way off his game lofting "touch" passes more often than not. He knew he was doing it too (Thus his comment to just "throw the ball" as he was coming off the field after his first interception). The icing on the cake was his absolute refusal to use his check down receivers. The Jets were giving him wide open check downs all game and he ignored them trying for the deep ball.

Mahomes isn’t gonna do that. This follows a pattern of mahomes ignoring checkdowns when he doesn’t trust his WRs. He’s gotta break the habit but between skyys bad route and several WR drops (including the Mvs drop which didn’t end up counting…), mahomes has a tendency to play hero ball because he doesn’t trust slowly matriculating down the field. He’s done that for years.

It was a good defense, early mistakes and our tendency to lose some focus when we go up big.

Khalil Mack had 6 sacks today against the Raiders!

Some of Macks sacks were laughable... Derrick Thomas would have had 12 against that Oline and QB...

This was a weird kind of game. Probably one of those where the team doesn't spend a lot of time going over it but just moves on to the next game.

It's NY/NJ. He probably gets offered a fisting on a daily basis.

Chiefs are 2-0 with Taylor Swift in attendance.

Our problem is that we have a #1 receiver and 6 #4 receivers.

(and the #1 receiver is playing TE)

Yep, Patrick starts forcing stuff when the offense gets off-kilter. A couple years ago it started with CEH fumbling away two straight games and some bobbled balls by the likes of Tyreek and whoever else. I wish Patrick would put stronger emphasis on ball security, regardless of anything else that's happening around him. He's now 28, so I'm not sure he will ever grow out of the tendency.

WBF. The Chiefs put it on cruise control thinking they had beaten the Jets into submission, turned the ball over at an alarming rate and still managed a W. Hopefully this was a wake up game.

Did anyone else besides me notice that Taylor got a safety for hands to the face at the 1 but Mike Danna got his helmet ripped off his head and that was okay? Try and tell me that Taylor isn't still under the microscope. Also wonder after Coach Reid and his confirmation of the refs bias against Taylor last week didn't make the Chiefs "highlighted" for making the officials look the fool this week.

Good teams win games like this.

I do not know if I have ever seen a post-safety free kick from the twenty be a land on the ground touchback.

Speaking of the kicking game, Butker is a machine this year. Whatever he had going on between his ears after last years injury has been cured!
It is so nice to not worry about an extra point any more! He is Mr. Automatic!

Yep, my oldest grandson down in Texas and I usually text some during the games.
I told him the same thing, too much Taylor Swift and too many commercials. They need some gounding and humility in my opinion. Hopefully last nights scare will get it done.

Looking a the stats not sure his ball security is a big concern, it always sucks when they happen but for the amount of attempts he has it’s definitely acceptable , I much prefer that then castrating him into Alex Smith .

Yep; texted a buddy when that happened. "Oh, so they can rip Danna's helmet off now and that's not a foul?"

The refs flat out sucked last night. The safety and "horse collar" penalties were egregious (cue Reese Bobby).

The game was really never in doubt. The people wringing their hands post game are suffering from lack of the Chiefs meeting their expectations for a blowout.

We had a blowout going, then the Jets decided to play their best three quarters of football this season. Hell, maybe even beyond this season. Their D was lit, and Wilson played out of his mind. Sometimes the other guys make plays.

Despite all that, the KC D continues to be dominant, surrendering 18pts w/ a couple of short fields due to INTs. The running game was D O M I N A N T against a formidable defense. Special Teams were virtually flawless (damn, Jets have one hell of a punter too... guess if you're going to be consistently bad, you better have a good punter?)

KC could have easily had a 10 point victory but decided instead to clock it at 3. On to the next game.
