Rocky I, II, and III are some of my favorite movies.. Like someone already said, its like another piece of my youth is gone.. RIP Mr. Weathers...

Honestly been tripping on just how iconic that dude was these last few hours, the man embodied Apollo like no one else possibly could have... Rocky would've been a BOMB without his singular style and grace as a foil

RIP Carl, even if you'd never done anything but Rocky... you'd still be an American Icon

Never heard a bad word about him. That says it all in that shit Hollywood town. He must have been a real good person.

Years ago I went to a CLE in San Francisco and then went up into Napa Valley. Went to Dr. Wilkinson's Spa. Got in the mud bath where it was warm and relaxing. Took a shower and got in the steam. Then went and had a massage. (No happy ending. This was an above-board place, but it was relaxing).

I step into the steam on the men's side of the spa and there was a guy already in there. It wasn't super hot but enough to make you sweat. There's something about the guy that looked familiar. You don't want to stare because you're in the steam but I kept wondering - how do I know this guy? And then it hits me - it's APOLLO CREED! My eyes are closed as I'm in the steam but I crack them open just a bit and sure enough, it's Apollo. Well, it's only the 2 of us in there and being in the steam, we're both naked although draped with towels. This isn't really the time for me to say, "I'm a big fan of your work." Thought that would be akward. So I kept my mouth and my eyes shut and he left the steam. But I was in the steam naked with Carl Weathers.

Loved him as Chubbs in Happy Gilmore also. As a golfer that crap will live on forever.

Amazing career. He played like a half dozen iconic characters (including himself in Arrested Development).

Wonder if I was the only one in the theatre rooting for Apollo to win the first time. I thought it made the movie more real and loved that character. He played it perfectly. RIP champ.
