Singer for Jonathan India is a swap that might work for both sides there.

I would also add that Salvy is a Royals icon at this point. He might get a statue (no fighting by it). They should ride with him the best they can, and maybe push him to retire if they don't get the value. He might be number two behind Brett as a Royals staple...you keep that if you can.

I also don't think they would get much value out of a trade. If they did, I might reconsider what my thoughts are, but I just don't see it being out there.

why didn't we get grinke as a long reliever type pitcher during the pennant race

1. Who knows if he wanted to pitch

2. Who knows if he would’ve been any good

3. We lost approximately 0 games down the stretch and especially in the playoffs due to lack of long relief.

I'm sure MJ Melendez just barely missed the cut in LF.

Vinnie's injury obviously complicated things, but this reinforces the idea that Sal's days behind the dish are numbered. He just isn't a very good defensive catcher anymore and his knees can't take it.

Fermin needs to be our backstop full time next year, Sal can pick up a few random days here and there. Sal needs to be at 1B or DH. Same with Vinnie. They can switch off next year until Cags gets up to the Bigs.

Then you'll have a mess to figure out.

Salvy is still above average at throwing out runners and his framing was not far behind Fermin, which is obviously the hot catching stat these days. But I wonder if Fermin just ran out of gas. He didn't hit at all the last month or so.
