No, actually, we bombed that curse right out of our plane.

Good luck on the Rose, I think she already has several ghosts on her, so you should be right at home.

Snap - Some serious problems with the site. I have a call into earthlink to check into it. Until then I am updating on the front page and sticking.

And yes, only the formalities are left until you are announced the All-Time and Sole Big Daddy Gambling Format Winner (2 years straight).

Nice job.

Other than the fact that go bo has failed to hit a single target, we have done rather well. I have invited Robert Conrad and his crew from the Pacific theater to guard us on the next mission.

cdcox 01-31-2004 11:41 PM

Dear Mom and Dad:

I've had two more missions since I last wrote. I even got my first medal: a purple heart. Don't worry, I'm no worse off than that time Robert caught that barb wire fence with his belly runnig from the cows. According to the guys up front, a Messerschmidt came in from the front right of the plane. I was hit before I even saw him. Luckily it only grazed me. The neat thing was that after we dropped our bombs, Captain KCWolfman came over the intercom and said, "Jerry's getting no more shots at you boys today." He then pulled right up between two other Fortresses and next thing I know we're on the ground safe and sound. Made me feel like he was really looking after us. The other waist gunner, Headsnap, also made the trip back to England go fast. He kept tellin' me about how all the nurses here at the hospital would be taking fine care of me. And you know, he was right about that. There is a cute brunnette that gave me an extra Hershey bar after dinner tonight. I reckon I'll ask her out for a beer next weekend. Doc says that I will be back in the saddle for the next mission. Considering the alternative, I'm mighty happy with that.

Two planes that had airmen that I knew have gone down the last few days. I can't tell you what a strange feeling it is to be having a few ales at the pub with a fella one day and the next hearing that he is dead. Still, we are getting our fair share of licks in. Our bomber hasn't hit much yet (I think our bombardier likes the fire water a bit too much) but some of the other planes are racking up the hits. I here tell that while doc was stiching me up. another bomber had to belly land. Wish I could have seen that (from the ground, not the air).

Again, don't worry yourselves much over me. God protected me today when he could have taken me home. If tomorrow God wants me with him, then I guess that is pretty much where I'm gonna go. Till then, I have a job to do, and I'm ready to get back to it.

Love,

cdcox

Perhaps a little help from someone that has actually hit a few targets is in order. Try looking through that little telescope thingy - yeah you want to keep your eyes open, you really need to quit closing them, counting to ten, then releasing the bombs - that's a real waste of bombs and the crew really doesn't appreciate getting killed for nothing. When the crosshair is on your target, THEN you drop the bombs.
