And really, whatever issue they face... odds are, I've been there at one point or another. With a daughter? Not so much.

Great point, one I had not thought of, and REP for taking care of your kids.

Got 3 "Daddy's Girls"

And we tend to like a lot of the same music and stuff. Whats really cool is I'm close enough to them, that they feel free to talk to me about ANYTHING.

Of course that has provided a few awkward moments, like when the youngest started her period.

And as single dad, the girls a really great. The really keep dad grounded, and try and pick out single moms for me.ROFL

It's amazing how much you an learn to appreciate all of things your parents did (and do) for you. My mom sacrificed a lot, but I seem to have developed my dad's reasoning and way of looking at things.

Doesn't matter. ;)

My mom and I fought like cats and dogs when I lived at home. Since then, we've both changed a bit. (In my mind, anyway)

In any case... when shit gets really, really bad, I call mom now.

I've become a momma's boy.

Yea when we split, she left me & the kids. I have custody of them per the divorce.

The 4 youngest are from that marriage, and 3 live with me. the oldest of the 4 is special needs, and after my Heart attack just to much for me to care for her. So she lives with a Respite provider, very close family friend

Cool.

We have something very rare in common.

A dude who gets his kids.

Take care of 'em and raise 'em right, man. With them around, you'll never be lonely.

Kinda feels like it some times.

Lil' man is convinced he needs a cell phone. He's a smart kid... too smart for his own good if you ask me.

I love him to death, and I do trust him... but he's growing up a bit faster than I'd like.

The younger boy? He's content to be Dad's buddy and collect all the hugs he can get. I like it that way.

My nieces are 12 and 13. They both have cell phones. My oldest niece is already into trying to look and act older. It just seems so weird to me, but then I think back when I was 13. Wow.

Great thing about daughters, they never outgrow hugs from dad. If my 12y/o goes a day with out 2-3 hugs from dad, I know she mad about something

Listen to your daughter. Almost 10 years ago, my idiot father cheated on his second wife with a girl 4 years older than me (within earshot of her 8 year old son). Our relationship wasn't that great to begin with, but that was pretty much the final straw.
