there's a lot of spin on this thread. It can't be ignored that every snide remark made about Sanchez immediately turns into a huge ****ing debate. It's clear that the Sanchez issue is easy bait....and then things like a Mecca meltdown happens... how can you blame them?

Show's about how much you know and contribute, if you got hit by a bus tomorrow it would increase the intelligence of the human gene pool.

Although I wouldn't mind having some SC players on the Chiefs defense, particitulary the Safety and the Linebackers.

They do bring the intensity and speed that the Chiefs sorely lack right now.

This is true.

After the Cassel trade, I watched every Patriot replay that the NFL Network played over the offseason, and offered up opinions on what I saw, much of which was positive.

But anytime I raised a concern, I got hit with some shit about how I wanted Sanchez.

It was pure unadulterated bull.

I never once in the two or three months after the trade brought up Sanchez's name in my discussions of Cassel.

It was always the anti Sanchez crowd.

You have been, no doubts. But we did have a disagreement with Leinart though, IIRC.

Still, I'm not going to hash it. You know I give you flack now and then when it comes to college football, but you also should be aware that I do respect your opinion, even if I disagree with it.

While nobody would directly say they want Cassel to fail, there are many posters who have come to the point where they are rooting for Sanchez to be better than Cassel merely as an "I told you so."

I just wish people would stop obsessing so much about a QB that's not on our team and start focusing on the QB that is. I think Cassel has shown some really encouraging things so far. And he's shown some areas he needs to greatly improve. And everyone agrees that he would improve markedly with better talent surrounding him--how much better remains to be seen.

Hard to argue with this

I think that Pioli would prefer to get a foundation set in here where when we are in a position that we need to develop a long term starter, we have the luxury of drafting a guy and letting him sit for the year. This team isn't there yet...

prolly ... i think Pioli is looking loooooooooong term.

Cassel is here while we get the boat righted so we can draft/develop a QBotF on our own terms.

Sanchez, with much better weapons around him: 52.1 completion%, 1035 yards in 6 games (172.5 average), 6.3 YPA, 5 TDs, 10 INTs, 56.7 QB rating, 6 fumbles with 2 of them lost.

Cassel, with very little around him: 57.4 completion%, 897 yards in 5 games (179.4 average), 5.5 YPA, 7 TDs, 2 INTs, 82.3 QB rating, 5 fumbles with none of them lost.

Would you all please stop sucking Sanchez's dick. He's just a rookie QB. He isn't the Savior, and he wouldn't have been with KC.

draft was in april ... 2 months prior to that ... add the 2, carry the 1, multiply by 14.

no wonder

i hope that Sanchez and all his fans die in a fire fueled by a cutdown aid's tree myself. But that's just me. ROFL ROFL

12-20, or thereaboust.

But it's great, cuz you never have to refresh.

And Dane, there is apparently an ignore function there.

Oh, yeah... BTW, I think Herman Edwards wasn't given a fair chance.

Here's my personal view on things:

I hope Mark Sanchez does well in life. He seems like a decent person. But the bottom line is that he's an asset, an expendable asset. But if he could have helped the *team* of the Kansas City Chiefs win and compete for championships, and he does that elsewhere, and the guy we picked over him doesn't, I'll be upset about that.

Ultimately, Mark Sanchez's success, or lack thereof, is an important piece of data, because it, along with Cassel's success or failure, marks Pioli's ability to assemble a championship team.

If we aren't asking questions of the team with the fewest wins in the NFL over the last three years, and we aren't critical of decisions that concern us, then why have an opinion at all? It's not because I, or anyone else, wants the team to fail, it's because we want them to succeed. I'd gladly take being wrong about players that I didn't like. I hope Tyson Jackson has 10 sacks next game. But that doesn't mean that I shouldn't be both critical and skeptical of the moves of this team.*

*Notice I didn't say cynical*

Hey, I like Squirmin' Herman. Not his fault he was over his head, LOL. He never should've been hired as the Jets' coach in the first place, let alone hired by someone else after that... Don't blame poor Hermie, blame the guy who hired him and gave him the reins. He's just one of those types that make a much better coordinator than coach (which is something the Chargers will never figure out with Clueless Norv).

JD, Herm was never a coordinator, either.

I don't think that Herman ****ing Edwards has the wherewithall to even succeed as a coordinator.

He never held a coordinator position before getting that Jets gig.

Herm would be a far worse coordinator than HC.

****, the former requires actual thought; it's a chess game.

Yeah, but the point is, it's a personality thing. Like with "Pom Pom" Pete Carroll when he was with the Patriots. Some guys just don't have the stones to run a team. Edwards, Norv, Pete Carroll, are three examples of that. I don't think Norv will EVER win the big game with San Diego. He's just not cut out for it.

Now, Haley, on the other hand, might have a lot to learn about being a head coach, but he's got "it", if you know what I mean.
