Pittsburgh Steelers veteran free agent safety Ryan Clark is meeting with the Miami Dolphins tonight, his agent, Joel Turner, confirmed. "We're looking forward to talking with the Dolphins," Turner said. "We're going to see how it goes and take it from there." A contract is considered unlikely to be completed tonight. Clark told the Miami Herald after arriving at the airport that he hopes to sign with the Dolphins and not take any other visits. "There were a lot of good offers and a lot of good fits," Clark said. "But this seems like a good spot. So I’m praying it goes well." Clark is a hard-hitting safety with good range and instincts. |
If you're not willing to pay enough money to make a player forget about the climate, and the sunshine you're not going to sign anyone to a 4-12 football team.
At some point you have to overpay to play. |

Jarvis Green takes his time looking for right fit
Holy trite homilies, Batman: if this isn't a Pioli guy, who is?
http://news.bostonherald.com/sports/...osition=recent The race for free agent cornerback Leigh Bodden may be heating up, but defensive end Jarvis Green is just getting started. Green and his agent, Albert Elias, sat back during the first few days of free agency, making phone calls and focusing on how teams would use him instead of taking visits. Tomorrow, expect the veteran Patriot to either begin taking trips to prospective employers or begin to finalize a deal to stay in New England. Either way, Green hopes to land with a team who will use him as an inside, nickel rusher in the 3-4 scheme. That’s how he thrived as a Patriot, piling up 14 sacks combined in 2006 and 2007. Elias believes Green, at 6-foot-3, 285-pounds, is the only available player in that role. “We are in a unique, unique position to be a free agent,” Elias said yesterday. “We believe he was the only person in free agency in his role, a down lineman who can rush and have sacks in the 3-4 scheme. Numbers prove it. We weren’t worried Friday, because we knew there was nobody (like him). We’ve studied the market.” It appeared Green was almost certain to leave the Patriots [team stats]. But Green is loyal to the team that found the role for him, and the Pats still have a need for it. His old team is involved. “It was our job to interview teams, talk numbers, and determine how teams are really going to use him and if he’ll be able to be successful,” Elias said. “I like players finishing contracts. That’s why we’re still in the process of fielding calls. If he’s used in the way he wants to be, he can play as long as he wants.” In addition, the Patriots will host a free agent coach Bill Belichick has always gushed over. Josh Reed, a Buffalo Bills receiver, will visit the Pats today, a source told the Herald. Reed had career highs of 597 receiving yards on 56 catches in 2008. He was lost in 2009, making just 27 catches for 291 yards. As for Bodden, the NFL Network reported that several teams are making a push, including the Steelers and Texans. The report said the Patriots are “trying hard” to keep the player who had five interceptions for them. |

Saints hosting Jamal Williams, too
Posted by Mike Florio on March 8, 2010 4:15 PM ET The New Orleans Saints apparently are in the market for a few old men. 35-year-old defensive end Leonard Little will visit this week. Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports that 33-year-old defensive tackle Jamal Williams will be visiting the Saints, too. Williams, who has spent 12 years in San Diego, has been a 3-4 nose tackle. In New Orleans, he'd become a defensive tackle in the team's 4-3 approach. The Chargers cut Williams last week. He missed most of the 2009 season due to injury. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...-williams-too/ |
Jamal Williams is in Denver now taking a physical.
I'll never understand why we haven't shown interest in him. |
that sucks.
i don't get the lack of interest either. |
the big DT the panthers cut Kemota or whatever his name is visited the skins i think. No offer because he is still rehabbing his achilles but if healthy he'd be a heck of an option at NT.

I doubt he has any explosion left after that. |
Besides the Chiefs are interested in Shaun Smith.

even tougher for a 345+ NT. |

I want no part of that loon Shaun Smith. If he's part of the right 53 then we need an interventionist.

Chiefs can pick up a former Chief as Ryan Lilja got cut by the Colts.
(No, I'm not being serious. Yeah he did get cut, but he's pretty much done.) |

sheesh, this off season has been wack.

lets say you are a free agent and can choose to go to Detroit or KC who do you choose if the money is the same? OH, I forgot, your answer would be CHIEFS! Because, well.......CHIEFS!!!! Players and coaches know that you cant do shit without a qb and the simple fact that we trotted out a guy with a jersey and a #7 doesnt mean we have a qb. |

Instead, he waits until 3 days into FA to re-sign with the team you claim he wanted to be with all along. Don't be naive. What's he going to say, "Yeah, I tested the market, and got no interest, so I came back to KC." **** no. He's going to be a professional and say exactly what he said. Answer me this: What does Chris Chambers do to help this organization win a Championship. I can't wait to see this fluff answer. |
I think it's hilarious how TRR is pimping Chambers, yet he claims that Cassel had no weapons to work with as an excuse for his shitty play.
Which is it? |

You know why I love Chambers so much? Because he actually provided this team with a deep threat for the first time since Herman ****ing Edwards showed up.
I love Chris Chambers. He's going for 1000 next year. You heard it here first. |

Chris Chambers did everything that can be asked of any receiver.
Blocked and allowed Charles to take it the distance instead of getting cut down half way there Came back to horribly underthrown balls and didnt just play defense, he actually went after the ball and caught it. Stretched the field Showed consistent hands (was the only one that Cassel trusted) Has something extra for SD Bringing back Chambers and signing Jones are great moves. |
Chiefs are making smart moves so far. It makes me ya feel ok about whats's going on in the big picture.
