Don't worry about it. You can make it up by bringing a free PS3 for everyone.

Hey Nzoner,

I am in Maryland on Vacation and I just bought an air mattress. Rather than pay an extra baggage fee taking it home, I was wondering if I could UPS ground it to your place so you can hold on to it until the bash?

Its getting pretty close and we still don't have the deets on a Tailgate Party.

Think we should start planning that or is it just going to be a bunch of different tailgates? It'd be nice if there were a bunch of small ones if we all planned to park near each other.

I got the impression everyone was going their separate ways for tailgating.

If you hang out with OTW or Guru, they both know where ours is at. Anyone is welcome to stop by. We're itching to show off the new (to us) RV. BYO. We'll have grills and coolers.

I have zero clue what I'm doing. I'm something of a planner, so it's starting to freak me out a little. I'm not even sure what my options are. Do I book a cheap hotel in OP? Do I ask to impose on some of you guys? DO I take Canadians up on their offer of crashing with them when I don't know them?

Pretty easy to find around town. Living in KS I got to have the privilege of partaking 3.2 Boulevards. Now that I'm not lost with Dorothy anymore, I can have the original!

Hyvee is my usual stop, it has a good selection of domestic and imports with decent microbrews to choose from.

That Hyvee is where Tiny and I stopped last year on our way up from the airport.

Pretty decent selection for a grocery store.

Nope. Yet another reason why Missouri is better. :p

It amazes me how many people actually buy their beer at a grocery store in Kansas as well. Number 1 it has less alcohol content. Number 2 it actually costs more than liquor store beer that has more alcohol content. Number 3 see numbers 1 and 2.

I lived in Highland / worked in Hiawatha so it sucked when I did have to pickup some brew while there. Family lived in MO so on my way back across I'd always stock up on the good stuff.

Found out later that if I was ever stopped, and because of really stupid laws, I could have been prosecuted for transporting across county lines.

I've even heard planes, in the past, while flying over KS couldn't serve liquor or even let you possess it after being served while over other states.

Not sure if the last part is true or not, I wasn't around during the Howard Hughes days.

Yes, 3.2 is dumb. That's why smart people in Kansas don't buy from the grocery/convenience stores.

As for Sunday, they sell it on Sunday here in Topeka. ;)

I think they've pretty much done away with the Sunday ban. I haven't seen a closed liquor store on Sunday in a couple years.

And only morons buy beer from grocery stores in KS. Going to MO and seeing half the store filled with wine and liquor is still a strange sight though.

In Kansas on Sundays it is by city and they have to a special license to sell on Sundays.

Yup, both Highland and Hiawatha were no sell on Sunday's. Which REALLY sucked if you ran outta beer watching Sunday football. Watching the Chiefs the last couple season sober is not fun.
