There's something different around the KC metro area regarding KU. It's more of a deep rooted hate one side has for the other. It's sociologically very interesting.

Well this rivalry wasn't built on mutual respect. This stems back to your people killing Josey Wales' family. You'll learn about it when you get to high school.

Los Pollos Hermanos 09-07-2010 05:08 AM

So, will KU win more then 2 games this year?

I don't know why you're suprised that Missouri fans or K State fans crack on KU on the radio or message boards. First of all, it's probably funny for them to see KU fans get so emotional about it, like kicking over an anthill. Secondly, it's not like KU fans don't call in shows or post on message boards talking junk. You make it seem like KU fans are just sitting there minding their own business, just waving little KU flags and saying, "Let's go! May the best team win!" It's a two way street.

This is very true. All teams have fans that do this. Unfortunately, it makes it hard on the fans that don't get all into the trash talking BS.

Really, luv? This coming from you? :shake:

2006 KcChiefs (9-7) - that was backing into the playoffs. And their performance against the Colts proved that.

2007 Kansas Jayhawks (11-1) - that was earned. Although I agree that MU by virtue of beating KU was slightly more deserving, that is not always the way that works.

But make no mistake, KU did everything they needed to do to become BCS eligible. At that point its up to the bowls to pick which teams they want within their guidelines. So let's stop with the revisionist history bullshit. Mmmmkay. :)

And lastly, KU proved they deserved to be there by winning it.

If that first game performance is any indication, probably not. I'm hoping that was just an anomaly.

What coming from me? I've never claimed to be anything but an MU football fan, even if I learned late not to root for two schools in different sports. Yes, KU deserved the opportunity, but I think MU got jipped. I've talked to KU football fans around here who have agreed.

People like to complain about KU fans being predictable and bringing up basketball, but every KU thread on this board gets dog piled by haters. Every. Single. One.
So of course you're going to hear the same things over and over, it's always against the same shit.

How come KU fans claim their national championships in basketball from way back when but yet Mizzou doesnt get to say it has won the Orange and Sugar Bowls?

I like how they include those "Helms Titles" in their penis measuring contest. I doubt any of them actually know what those even are.

You blame Mangino when you get raped by the likes of Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, etc.

You blame Turner Gill when you only muster 3 points against North Dakota State.

We know what they are. It was the only way to be crowned champion back in the day. Clearly not the best way, but it is what it is.

I guess KSU doesn't have have a "penis", except when it comes to "Soil Judging", huh?

Understandably bitter grapes like Saul have no idea what it's like to win a National Championship - and never will, so there come to the KU threads with their amateur psychology bs and make fools of themselves.

I'll say - it was unfathomable to me to think that Kansas would lose. I thought they may struggle to put up points, and may end up winning by a couple touchdowns, but lose? It wasn't even on my radar.

I really feel bad for you and i'm not trying to be an asshole. I would be so pissed if I spent money on season tickets and watched my team lose to NDSU. If they keep playing like they did last week are you going to renew for next year?

This.

Biere dropped half a dozen passes and had two crucial fumbles. I suppose the QB and coaching staff could share in some of the blame here though... they kept throwing to him/left him in the game (respectively).

The PK is just awful. Lin Elliott bad.

Didn't see the game. But Biere is expected to be good this year and the kicker has been okay for us over the past 3 seasons. I'm hoping that we can just chalk this up to one bad game for those players.

But I heard that there was a lot of confusion and a general lack of discipline on the offense (lots of penalties, late play calls, and other various mistakes). Frankly, I was surprised by this because Long was OU's coordinator (Jason White, Heisman) and has been a head coach. You would think he would have his offensive team a little more prepared.

Having heard Bob Davis many times before I would actually classify it as an educated guess.
Bob Davis is an incredible homer who often complains about the refs and you can hear the depression in his voice when KU loses, so I don't see what's "totally stupid" about suggesting he would have done that last weekend.

Yes he is...

Jesus I remember listening to the MU/KU game last year... Could only get the MU feed...

You never knew what the down and distance was on each play, or how many yards the play went for... I remember posting about here her after the game and MU fans agreeing with me. You were lost the whole game trying to figure out where everything was.

Bob Davis isnt the best by far, but he isnt the worse either.

But if you hate everything KU, then he is the antichrist... I get it....

Have you ever listened to the KSU P-B-P guy - Wyatt Thompson? Holy ****. You'd want to shoot yourself in the face 10 minutes into the game. He's not a homer, but just a full throttle reerun.

You know back in 2003-2006 I used to listen to every KU and KSU football and basketball game on the internet. Living in Louisiania, I missed being in Kansas that much, that just listening to the games and commercials made me feel like I was back home for awhile.

Same with the Royals and Chiefs games...

I did catch him some last year on the farm... I didnt think he was any worse than the rest of them..

When you've had Mitch Holtus and Greg Sharpe as your former PBP guys, it's tough to listen to stupid.

I don't hate everything KU. I didn't go to a Big 12 school. I went to college in Buffalo, NY. I've lived in like 5 states, I've heard broadcasts from many, many play by play announcers. Bob Davis ranks as probably the biggest homer I've heard. He's terrible.

I guess. You yourself said announcers are biased and complain about the refs, then you suggest that I'm totally stupid for saying Davis might have done that. I don't really get whatever point it is you're trying to make.

I like MU's radio guy a lot. Hopefully one day he'll get to call a Bowl outside the state of Texas...

The Motor City bowl is nice, I understand.
