So thankful I bought the snowblower a couple months ago. Fifteen minutes work and It's done.

I used to love that shit as a kid. We’d attack one with shovels and make ourselves a snow fort. Get two of them somewhat close to each other and we’d stage bb gun wars.

Snow day tomorrow, too. Sometimes, teaching can be awesome!

Snow is really picking up here again, gonna try to make my way home in a few minutes.

I was surprised my district called off school last night around 6. They rarely call it off, and if they do, they are usually one of the last.

If we get any of the freezing rain they are calling for tonight, I have a shot.

I've set the beads on many a tire using starting fluid lol.

There are some better videos on YouTube that show the tire/wheel jumping a couple of feet in the air but most of those have the embedding disabled.

Took 5 hours to get from Leawood to west Olathe. 119th was impassable 135th was ok until just west of Blackbob. I barely got enough space cleared in my drive to get the car in. 10 inches in the drive with 14 inch drifts.

I'm done for the day.

So what does this snow dump mean for us in terms of the bad drought we're in? I know it helps, of course, but what does a foot of snow equal in terms of moisture entering the ground?

I remember some weather person talking that we are so dry in this part of the country that it could rain non-stop until we had 17 inches of rain, and we'd basically be right where we're supposed to be at in terms of precipitation in the ground.

1 in. of snow=.1 in of rain.

So a foot of snow equals a little over an inch of rain. That stinks. Was hoping to get a bit more moisture out of this.

There are already talking spring floods up here from this still stuff. North and South of here have more snow than here.

As far as the drought goes...1 foot of snow, is better than 1 inch of rain..A foot of snow takes longer to soak into the ground and over time it is better. 1 inch of rain, 1/2 of that just runs off.

We got around 6-8 inches in CoMo. My wife had to go to work tonight, which meant I had to try and shovel out the driveway with an absolute rapejob of an upper respiratory infection. I managed to get it hacked out, but I've got absolutely nothing left.

hate to break it to you this way but i gave your wife 6-8 inches in CoMo once too.

Got stuck on the highway for an hr because dumb ass plows left a ****ing mountain at the end of the on ramp.

OMG The 1980s Jacobson two stage just tore it up tonight. Those 3 ft city plow drifts that have been kicking MR.single stage 2 cycle Toro's ass for years. Not a problem for BIG JAKE!

Wow, I went to bed early thinking this was about done, and there's another 3-4 inches in the driveway. Can't wait to see what kind of mess I have at work.

Spent 2 hours shoveling the driveway yesterday...we probably got about 12" here. Wake up to his morning sore as hell. I look outside and see I now have a 4' pile of snow at the base of my driveway. Thank you snow plows! ****!

We got maybe 4 inches. Kids have ****ing school. :(

Drove from KCMO to Olathe, took about 45 minutes (usually takes me 25). Roads weren't bad once I got out of my neighborhood. 435 westbound was bumpy as **** though, probably going to be mass pothole repair this Spring as a result.

I've got 13". Oh yeah, and we got some snow too.

Our street has not been plowed yet, so we are hunkering down for most of today. A neighbor called the city, said that we will get plowed between 1-3 today. Kudo to the wife for hitting the grocery store and stocking us up!

Went pizza box sledding off of daisy hill to celebrate KU's snow day yesterday. I'll likely be doing the same thing near the campanile today.
