Yep. I just traded that launch PS3 to Amazon for 200 bones in an Amazon credit which I put toward Ps4.

They actually came out in late 2006 though.

I had a launch 360. Worked perfectly. Then got a launch slim. Works perfect to this day. I've had good luck with them

I have had my 360 since 2006. The key is to put a couple blocks under the console so it has proper ventilation.

Btw, Metal Gear is due to come out in the spring.

Been reading that GS will starting selling any additional stock of PS4's at 6 pm when they start processing the preorders.

That's amazing. Bought my first Xbox 360 in 2007. Actually had 2 of them at one point for awhile. But I've sent them in for repairs probably 6 or 7 times at least. Mainly RROD, of course. I'm gonna wait for these new consoles to show their stuff for awhile before I think about getting one of the new systems. Right now, though, I'm leaning toward the PS4.

Just traded in my non working PS3 to Gamestop for $56. Much better than nothing and it saves me from having to use some of my credit on the PS4.

What games are you picking up? I used the B1G1 from Amazon to get 2K and fifa. Thinking of using Amazon to get Killzone, Knack, and not sure of what else...Have the BF4 bundle preordered.

My PS3 actually just died this weekend. I got it the day they were released. Still going with the XBOX first this time because of all the media features. Thats primarily what I use my consoles for these days anyway.

Since I preordered multiple games, Amazon sent me a code for a free game, which is sweet. I used it on Battlefield 4. I was tempted to do FIFA but I don't trust the inital sports games on next-gen consoles.

Target has B1G1 on XB1 games but it's only for BF COD and some shitty fighting game. I'm hoping when places do this for XB1 it's a better selection next week.

They'll charge a monthly fee for it and it'll bank them money. Get the public to get your console off the bat, win the start off against Microsoft, institute Gaikai, charge $15 a month for it or something like that, Make WoW kind of money. It'll be worth it to many like me, but Sony isn't doing it to give the gamer what they want as much as they're going to get paid for it.

I bet Microsoft is so pissed at themselves for the DRM and the way they instituted it, Sony is going about getting their money a smarter way. For the record I'm getting an Xbox One, but once Gaikai comes out and if it's worth it then I'll get my PS4.

You go to the front of target and buy anything electronic related and it spits out coupons. It took me 4 tries buying $1 ps4 watchdogs preorders, 1 a transaction so 4 transactions, but it's worth it.

I could also always return 2 of the games, get $40 back each, and essentially get a free game. Hmmm....

Trip report:

Went to Target about an hour ago to score my 3 games. They didn't have a lot of games left (Belton store) and the lady didn't sound like people were buying em heavy. So I guess they just didn't get a lot of copies in, so you'll want to get your stuff asap.

The system didn't take the 30% off coupon naturally and it took a manager override to make it go through. So keep that in mind if you try to coupon it, as some will probably be dicks and refuse to take it. Luckily the dude that did mine was hella cool about it and the only comment he had was, "that's a good deal."

What did your total end up being & what games?

I ended up with 7 launch games, probably too many, but they cost me a grand total of $180 so I'll survive. I love capitalism, when retailers compete, customers win.

So...I'm waiting on reviews on what to get.

Shadow Fall looks cool but i may hold off on buying a ps4 game. I preordered the system in june so ill have that but i still have 5 or so ps3 games i need to beat. Maybe waiting won't be so bad.

I got AC, Killzone and Madden. Will probably swap AC for NFS this weekend if the reviews are good.

All 3 cost just under $90 after tax. Target is in some newer shopping area in Belton, so the taxrate is ****ing ridiculously high.

That's how I played Dust 514, but I don't think it's a feature in most FPS games on the PS3.

They're tearing apart PS4 Exclusives in the Reviews today. Knack especially, which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to playing it. The only game they seem to have a consensus of great is Resogun. Polygon is being pretty cruel with their scores, giving the PS4 system itself a 7.5/10.

A lot of the gaming media has had these consoles and games over a month. They don't have to wait until launch day to start playing like everybody else.
