Being in the advertising business I'd like to apologize to all of you coming to camp as the camp guide you will receive has 4 places listed for dining and one of those is McDonald's.:doh!:
This city does not deserve hosting camp. |

You should set up a gyro stand or something. |

I miss the hell out of River Falls. That trip was amazing every year. Great little town surrounded by other great little towns. Great weather, nice people. The twin cities, and a decent set up for watching practice. My wife and I would stand near the ropes during warm ups, then go to the top of the stands during team periods.
Gonna go to St Joe next week for one practice, and I'm hardly even looking forward to it. Not a huge fan if that city, anyway, and from all the negativity I read, it sounds like the fan experience sucks. I know they'll never get back to River Falls, and probably just be at the complex during camp in a year or two... But damn I miss that trip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 |

No Alex Smith or Chase Daniel today at practice. Looks like they get the morning off. #Chiefs |

Kansas City Chiefs@kcchiefs4m
A lot of rookies and a few veterans out at practice this morning. Stanzi and Bray are the only QBs at practice. |
Top 5 defense according to Chadia!
|
RT @evansilva: Ricky Stanzi opened #Chiefs camp as 4th-string QB behind Alex Smith, Chase Daniel, and Tyler Bray

Everyone (SSJ, Chadia, and Bukatey) was in agreement that it is going to be like night and day because of Alex Smith and Andy Reid and that we were all basically idiots for thinking that the 2-14 mess of the last 3 years doesn't matter. |

I'd normally suggest Hoof-N-Horn Steakhouse but they're closed on Sundays. Other local possibilities Mexican-Barbosa's Variety-San Jose Steakhouse or The Ground Round |

Very few local joints - more places like Applebee's, McDonald's and HyVee Salad Bar. |

As for me, I hate Alex Smith because he molests goats while fantasizing about Matt Cassel |
Quote:
Because they can't claim him off waivers to place him on their practice squad. He must clear waivers first. No effing way that a team would do that. EVER. |
BTW, the CHIEFS thought so highly of Bray, that they went an entire draft without calling his name. Now, without any preseason anything, teams would jump at the chance to put an undrafted rookie QB on their active roster that another team thought so highly of to not only not draft, but cut?
yeah, right :banghead: |
@3guysinagarage: John Clayton thinks Eric Fisher will get signed today
|
@joshklingler: Clark Hunt caught some balls off the jugs machine today, no word on whether he'll sign #chiefs
|
@Jacobs71: Alex Smith, Chase Daniel, Donnie Avery & Tony Moeaki were given the practice off. #Chiefs
|
@Jacobs71: Rico Richardson was the star today during team & 7 on 7s
|
@joshklingler: and yes to answer questions, Clark Hunt did look like Wes Welker as he caught off the jugs machine #chiefs
|
@Jacobs71: Bray with a dart to Hammond in the back corner. #Chiefs
DOUCHEGASM! |
@Jacobs71: Bray to Kelce for a TD. #Chiefs
|
@Jacobs71: Bray to Shoemaker for a TD. #Chiefs
|
@Jacobs71: Bray aired out a deep ball to Rico Richardson for a big gain. Good outside shoulder placement. #Chiefs
|
@Jacobs71: Great practice for the younger players to get a lot of reps. Bray & Stanzi allowed to get a lot of solid work in. #Chiefs

You think Andy Reid took a 2-14 team and turned them into a Super Bowl contender in one OTA and mini-camp? Because that's all they've done. Quote:

This discussion about Bray would only happen to a Chiefs fanbase. We've been starving for a home-grown QB for decades that even a hint of talent that gets brought is seen as (or hoped to be) the next savior.
Bray went UNDRAFTED. NO ONE thought highly of him, regardless of his magical arm. I hope he does make the final 53. But if he doesn't, what does it say to other teams that he couldn't make a roster with Smith, Daniel and Stanzi as the QB corp? Teams are all of a sudden going to jump on him when they didn't even bother to take a 7th round flyer on him a few months ago? Yeah, I'M off my rocker. Right. |

Stanzi is a dead man walking. hes only still around I bet because he is a camp arm. Bray is already following Alex Smith everywhere. Stanzi is dead. |
Stanzi did make some nice throws today, according to Twitter.

I know I am probably alone in my thinking, but if this is going to be a mega thread on training camp, I wish we could sort of stay on topic. Wading through mega threads is bad enough without wondering way off topic. JMO

And I won't even call you a dumbass for it. When a player is released he goes through waivers. If a team picks him up off of waivers, that team MUST add him to the 53 man roster. THEY CANNOT PUT THAT PLAYER ON THEIR PRACTICE SQUAD. All practice squad players on every team must clear waivers first. If that player clears waivers, then he is free to sign with anyone and those teams CAN place him on their practice squad. Now I ask you, why would a team pass on Bray for 7 rounds, see him get cut by a QB-hungry team and pick him up off waivers and place him on their 53-man roster? Because they all of a sudden see him with amazing potential? Bullshit. Won't happen. If Bray were to be cut and he did clear waivers, why would he sign to another team's pratice squad when he chose the Chiefs as an undrafted rookie and went through an entire offseason with them? I agree that it is entirely likely Bray will make the final roster, but if KC wanted to put him on the practice squad, it'll be likely because he didn't do much in the preseason and thus no team would pick him off waivers. |

let's face it ... this place can't EVER stay on topic at least with several threads, when one turns to shit you can just move on. but people have this little ego competition going now about who can start threads that stay around the longest. So everyone wants to be the author of the mega thread. Also why some people bump their own threads 10 times whether they suck or not. might as well be on a playground playing kickball in grade school :doh!: |

Tyler Thigpen was an attempted practice squad cut by the Vikings before the Chiefs picked him up.

But since you asked... 1) A team may have had other priorities in the draft/at their spot. 2) A team gets through camp and makes the decision that the 3rd QB on their roster isn't as good as a PS player somewhere else. 3) A team believed they'd have a shot at signing said player, but didn't, and this is their second shot. 4) Injury 5) to keep that player away from the original team. Now, it's fine to believe that, for 31 other teams, none of these things will happen. But it's nothing more than a blind prediction. But to believe that others who believe that just one of these five solid options may arise is being dumb, that's just wishing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 |

Because if it is, I'll play by the established discussion's rules. But I think that's dumb. 7th rounders are often just as expendable as undrafted players. Teams want good players. Period. If they have to cut draft picks to keep aboard a really good undrafted guy, they do it. All of them do. |
Quote:
If Bray is cut and the Chiefs tried to put him on the PS, that means he didn't beat out Ricky Stanzi. Any team that needs a QB desperately enough to pick up a guy that couldn't beat out Stanzi and place him on their 53 man roster, should have drafted 2 QBs in last years draft, 'cause it was a priority. |

From there it went full Planet. |

BTW, that's about the quality of player we are talking about here. You think Minnesota is regretting their decision? I didn't think so and neither would KC if they cut Bray either. |

Anyone saying Bray wouldnt get picked up on the practice squad is ****ing reeruned...
Stanzi wouldn't get picked up. |
we had god damn UDFA OL David Mims on our practice squad last year or whatever
remember that big huge dude, young, green as grass? He was plucked by the Ravens. A Super Bowl winning franchise signed him from OUR PRACTICE SQUAD to their roster. He was on the Ravens radar as a UDFA when he signed with us instead, they kept their eye on him the whole time. I'm not saying hes going to pan out, the point is, the other teams that were interested in Bray as a UDFA will have no problem plucking him from our PS, just like the teams interested in Mims were. it happens all the time. We just arent used to it as often the last 4 years cause our roster has been dog shit for acquiring young talent. |
