More responsible for fixing Hosmer.

Brett, Girfol, Hosmer, Francouer.

Sure-Oz 08-16-2013 05:53 PM

Gordon has to get going....huge slump

siberian khatru 08-16-2013 05:54 PM

There's your two runs, BGJ

ChiTown 08-16-2013 05:55 PM

Hos looks so relaxed in the box right now. Fun to watch...

Mizzou_8541 08-16-2013 05:57 PM

I was late switching over and missed Hosmer's HR. Holy shit that was a bomb.

chiefroyalfan 08-16-2013 05:58 PM

another free pass - this team is too good with the deep ball to do that

Sure-Oz 08-16-2013 05:58 PM

Shields....cmon man

siberian khatru 08-16-2013 05:58 PM

Come on, Shields, goddammit

ChiTown 08-16-2013 05:58 PM

****ing Shields......walk

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:00 PM

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 06:00 PM

uh oh, Miggy up.

Sure-Oz 08-16-2013 06:03 PM

Cmon Shields

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:08 PM

For the love of God......

Shields danced his way out of that inning. Wow!

siberian khatru 08-16-2013 06:08 PM

Survived the gauntlet

WilliamTheIrish 08-16-2013 06:14 PM

I see Mark Reynolds hit a 3 run bomb for the NYY.

No, we don't need that. Not with Jaime Carroll around.

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:21 PM

James settling down? Looks like it. Nice inning by BGJ

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 06:24 PM

Nice Getz.

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:29 PM

That was a ****ing weak-sauce inning after Getz getting on to lead off. ****

SPchief 08-16-2013 06:32 PM

Shields grooving

Sure-Oz 08-16-2013 06:32 PM

Cmon shields

SPchief 08-16-2013 06:35 PM

Can't do that with Cabrera behind him

SPchief 08-16-2013 06:37 PM

Got damn lucky there and BGJ knew it

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 06:38 PM

Whew.

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:38 PM

Holy tits, that was mis-hit. Should be a tie game. Phew, lucked out again.

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:52 PM

James has been hit hard as **** all night. He's lucky as **** to have a 0 on the board right now

Hey
#Embracetheluck

Shogun 08-16-2013 06:54 PM

@ESPNStatsInfo Who hits the longest HR in MLB? Try Eric Hosmer, whose HR average 422 feet in 2013. His HR tonight was 424 feet

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 06:55 PM

Nice inning for Shields

RealSNR 08-16-2013 06:55 PM

Score/inning? Are we still in Detroit?

ChiTown 08-16-2013 06:56 PM

2-0 Top of 7

Doesn't suprise me, when he hits one, you know it's gone

WilliamTheIrish 08-16-2013 06:57 PM

That's not luck. That's guile. Shields doesn't want to throw his FB if he can help it. He's just nursing this lead until he can hand it over to the pen.

SPchief 08-16-2013 06:59 PM

Thanks Miggy

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 06:59 PM

Fat and unathletic.

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:00 PM

LMAO

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:01 PM

What a horrible pickoff throw.

ChiTown 08-16-2013 07:02 PM

That's what speed do!

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:02 PM

3-0

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:02 PM

3-0 Royals!

Mizzou_8541 08-16-2013 07:02 PM

Nice job by the guy that looks like he is 50.

chiefsfan987 08-16-2013 07:03 PM

did getz leave before he caught that ball? it looked like he did to me

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:03 PM

Nice to take advantage of a Detroit mistake.

Shogun 08-16-2013 07:03 PM

Hosmer wanted another dinger chasing like that

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:05 PM

Billay almost kills Bonderman

Nope, he played it perfectly

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:08 PM

D'sup?

Shogun 08-16-2013 07:08 PM

I always envision Phil Coke doing copious amounts of Coke. and screaming, COKE.

thebrad84 08-16-2013 07:09 PM

That was terrible Gordon

AussieChiefsFan 08-16-2013 07:10 PM

Good to be leading another game. Gotta stay infront though.

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:12 PM

First I've got to see either game tonight. Have both teams had multiple chances to score or has pitching been brilliant on both teams?

Reaper16 08-16-2013 07:13 PM

Can the Royals re-hire Kevin Seitzer to be Alex Gordon's personal batting coach?

Duffy was outstanding going 5 2/3 before giving up a hit. Shields has been pitching to contact with a lead

Kewl. Thanks

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:18 PM

Atta boy BGJ!

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:18 PM

Awesome outing for Shields.

chiefsfan987 08-16-2013 07:19 PM

Come on guys tack on another run or two.

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:23 PM

Salvy needs to get a more confident swing going

Shogun 08-16-2013 07:24 PM

David Lough....IS. A. MAN!!!!!!!!

ChiTown 08-16-2013 07:24 PM

Note to Ned: Lough is your best option at lead off.

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:27 PM

LMAO

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:27 PM

ROFLWhat a tard

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:28 PM

Detroit fans sure can do the wave well.

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:30 PM

Royals playing hard

Pitt Gorilla 08-16-2013 07:32 PM

Al Alburquerque? Is he related to Brock Middlebrooks?

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:33 PM

Heh, Now I remember that Pena can't throw anyone out

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:33 PM

Has a Detroit catcher thrown out anyone yet in this series?

Looked like he had 4 and a half steps before the pitcher let it go. Salvy would have had him though

chiefsfan987 08-16-2013 07:37 PM

well, if we're not going to score anymore lets at least get 6 quick outs.

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:40 PM

Whew, communicate guys

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:40 PM

Damn. Don't need another injury fellas

chiefsfan987 08-16-2013 07:41 PM

need to work on communication in the outfield with all these new guys out there.

ChiTown 08-16-2013 07:43 PM

If someone told me we only scored 5 runs total for the double header against Detroit, I would have guessed we lost both games. Great ****ing pitching tonight.

SPchief 08-16-2013 07:43 PM

LUUUUUUUUUUUUKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

I mean really, LUKE HOCHAVER just retired Tori Hunter, Miguel Cabrera, and Prince Fielder in order.

stonedstooge 08-16-2013 07:43 PM

HOCH HAS FINALLY FOUND A HOME

Shogun 08-16-2013 07:43 PM

That is now my favorite Hoch moment of all time. started walking off before it was called strike 3. beautiful pitch.

C3HIEF3S 08-16-2013 07:44 PM

Hoch, that was just ****ing nasty.

chiefsfan987 08-16-2013 07:44 PM

I'd love to see the Royals make the playoffs just because I think we'd be a really tough out with this pitching staff. You know Detroit wouldn't want to face us and neither would Boston.

Meh, Detroit has this division ......... ( CP non fateful )

WilliamTheIrish 08-16-2013 07:45 PM

What a hook that was. Paralyzed Fielder.

PHOG 08-16-2013 07:45 PM

I know it's wrong, but I was hoping Hoch would put an errant fastball into his right knee...
