Sorry to hear all this Donger. Enjoy the time you have with him and know that I'm praying for you all.

Buehler445 06-26-2015 10:27 AM

Condolences, man. That's tough.

Prayers for you and your family.

Meatloaf 06-26-2015 01:26 PM

Prayers and good thoughts continue.

Hard to do, but just try and remember that dying is as natural as being born. Just part of our journey.....

Hang in there, bud.

Hootie 06-26-2015 02:08 PM

Good thoughts for you and your family.

Hi Everyone:

My Dad was just admitted to the ER. He has lost complete control of his legs and is hallucinating badly. He still recognizes me but he is barely lucid. He also has some kind of issue with his lungs now.

I contemplated not asking for this, but if you would, please say a prayer or send good vibes to my father at this time. I'm really trying very hard to be positive, but I suspect that we're entering into the period that I've been dreading for over a year.

And, if you also would, please say a prayer for my mother. They have been together since the were 14 and 16 (now 70 and 72 respectively), and are the most symbiotic couple that I've ever seen. She has been my father's primary care giver since this all began, and absolutely refuses to cease that care, but it's really taking a toll on her.

On a side note, please do take some time tomorrow to wish your fathers a Happy Father's Day. I have a horrible feeling that this will be my last one to say it to mine, and it would give me some comfort if a I knew that this post has some positives beyond my asking.

Thank you,

Donger

So, I guess this is it.

Thank you all for all your good thoughts and prayers since this began. I truly appreciate it. It has helped me, and I hope that somehow they reached my dad as well.

Donger

:( I'm so sorry.

I'm very sorry to hear this, bud. Enjoy the time with him that he has left, and realize that he's going to a much better place. Thought and prayers for you and your family.

Thoughts and prayers.

Boise_Chief 06-26-2015 07:21 PM

Hang in there. What is your dad's name. It helps me to use a first name when praying. Really will be praying hard for him. My FIL just had a 1/4 of his lung removed for a tumor.

DaNewGuy 06-28-2015 03:00 PM

Just hearing the word hospice almost makes me sick. My dad was in the same place my mother wanted him home and literally 20 mins after he passed the hospice lady started grilling my mom about the drugs like she was gonna take them or some shit. **** that place. Im so very sorry Donger but all the memories you and your pops had will never go away. May you and your family find peace in this very very difficult time. Your CP family will always have your back

Donger 07-01-2015 06:07 PM

My Dad passed a few hours ago. They gave him three months after diagnosis. He made it 14 months. They said that he'd live a day or two after discharge. He made it a week.

That was, is and always will be, my father. He always demanded that expectations not only be met, but exceeded, and he always led by example. Even at the end.

He passed with my mother embracing him, which is what he wanted. They are so close. Thankfully, all my brothers and I are only a 30 minutes away, so we all got there at exactly the same time to support my mother.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. It has brought me a lot of comfort since this began and now that it has ended.

Thank you,

Donger

Anonymous internet brohugs your way. So sorry about all this.

Remember to not be afraid to talk to anybody once life starts to go back to normal. I've found that once you get back into your old routine is the time it can hit the hardest.

Much luck and peace to you.
