Hi Everyone:

My Dad was just admitted to the ER. He has lost complete control of his legs and is hallucinating badly. He still recognizes me but he is barely lucid. He also has some kind of issue with his lungs now.

I contemplated not asking for this, but if you would, please say a prayer or send good vibes to my father at this time. I'm really trying very hard to be positive, but I suspect that we're entering into the period that I've been dreading for over a year.

And, if you also would, please say a prayer for my mother. They have been together since the were 14 and 16 (now 70 and 72 respectively), and are the most symbiotic couple that I've ever seen. She has been my father's primary care giver since this all began, and absolutely refuses to cease that care, but it's really taking a toll on her.

On a side note, please do take some time tomorrow to wish your fathers a Happy Father's Day. I have a horrible feeling that this will be my last one to say it to mine, and it would give me some comfort if a I knew that this post has some positives beyond my asking.

I'm sad to say that my father has double pneumonia. His immune system is shot after 14 months of chemo. So, they are stopping the chemo treatments. They are suggesting that he be moved to a hospice, which my mother is refusing. She wants him at home.

So, I guess this is it.

Thank you all for all your good thoughts and prayers since this began. I truly appreciate it. It has helped me, and I hope that somehow they reached my dad as well.
