It reminds me of the Jags and a soccer team.
Tough loss for my Ducks. Getzy with too many soft plays this year that costs us points. |

Hey predators fans.
If the Blues offered you David Backes, Alexander Steen and Jay Bouwmeester for Mike Ribiero and Barrett Jackman, would you be interested? Because seriously, I'd give you Backes and Steen just to clear Jay Bouwmeester from our books. I don't want Ribiero and Jackman either, but you need to clear about $4 million from your cap to take on the $15.5 that those 3 would add to it. It's essentially giving you another scoring line and all you have to do is take Jay Bouwmeester and his contract off our hands. |
Apparently the Kings and Anze Kopitar are close on an 8 year, $80 million contract. It's been quite a process, apparently. But great for the Kings (and Kopi) if true.
I'm also hearing that the Lightning could be dealing Jonathan Drouin soon. The Ducks are a strong possibility. They've climbed back into contention again. |
Is Corey Crawford the Rodney Dangerfield of the league? Cuz he certainly is here in Chicago.
|
Well solid win for the Cats tonight. Finally snapped that little losing streak. This team plays completely different when Ekblad is on the ice.
|
Avs just got screwed out of a goal down 0-1 in the third. Dammit.

Avalanche outshot 43-15 and beat the Stars 3-1.

we got some fellow avs fans here? I lost the heart to watch hockey regularly when Joe sakic retired. One of my all time fav athletes and certainly lived up to the super joe moniker.

Nice... the speed of the game live from the lower bowl is unbelievable. I don't care for the Coyotes much, but I wouldn't mind if they relocate here one day. :D

But yes, lower level hockey was much more awesome than the normal high cheap seats I get. I just do not understand how they can skate that fast and change directions that quick. It's amazing. and **** LA! |

Yeah, I'll be first in line for season tickets if KC ever lands a team... I've seen a handful of games in different cities and have never left disappointed. |
https://scontent-atl3-1.xx.fbcdn.net...g=eyJpIjoidCJ9 Man I'm enjoying the ride. PS sorry Gadzooks :)

Anyone watching the Avs/Sharks game just tuned in

Damn Pickard.

Got way out of position there. Bleh.

Welp, random AHL goalie may get a shot here in the 3rd. No reason for leaving Picks in there when he's gotta play again tomorrow.
|
How bout them Cats Face? :)

Penguins go into the All-Star break on a high.
The team has turned it completely around after booting Mike Johnston. |

All of a sudden, both are producing big time - better scheme & fit for both. |

The Blues had to dress an equipment manager a couple of years ago when they traded Halak and Miller hadn't gotten into town yet. NHL rules allow you to essentially dress any schmo in the organization as an 'emergency goalie' if you couldn't get someone up from the minors in time for the game. So had the Avs been caught shorthanded, Roy could've actually played. It's my understanding he actually went out there in pads before gametime because the Avalanche knew it was a possibility. |
Take a seat for 20-30 games.

Holy shit... and lol at "...and he never sees the lineman..."
|
Well.....alrighty.
I can see him going for the rest of the year for that...sheesh. |

Wideman's never had a reputation as a troublemaker and frankly, that's just so !@#$ing crazy that I can't imagine what he did was actually done with an intent to blast the ref. I know all outward appearances suggest that it was, but ****....you'd essentially need to believe that a player who's been a good citizen throughout his career decided to torpedo his livelihood for shits and grins. Had he tried to be surreptitious about it, I think he'd actually take a bigger hit. But this was just so brazen that it almost had to be cobwebs. |
Both Wideman and the ref looked stunned, that was really strange.
On another note, congrats to you Avs fans on a nice win last night. I thought the Kings were gonna own that one after the first, Avs showed a lot of heart and played well after that to win it. Although the Kings need to be more disciplined about penalties. |

Hopefully Wideman comes up with something better than "I didn't see him until the last minute" excuse like he said in his post game.
|
This is a solid read from John Scott about the NHL ****ing him over through this whole ordeal.

Scott scored 2 today  |
Like the new format... seemed to be more fluff/commercials last night, but didn't really matter since I recorded it. Always enjoy the skills competition and the 3 on 3 was entertaining... completely blows away any other league's all star stuff.
|
New format was fantastic. Wonder if the league will actually take the John Scott story to heart and find a way to get more grinders involved in the future. He was, by far, the main (and most entertaining) story of the weekend.
|
Laaaaaame

As far as John Scott and having future "grinders" is concerned, I doubt it. This is an isolated incident where he was voted in as a joke and gained popularity because the NHL disapproved and did their damndest to keep him out. The fans noticed, rebelled against the establishment, and hence the ridiculous support behind him en route to the All-Star MVP. I doubt you get the same support if you introduce a grinder/pest like Zac Rinaldo or Ryan Garbutt. |
Quote:
The issue is that I have no idea how you'd define the category I'm looking for. There's not technically a formal position of "4th line grinder," so I'm not sure where you draw the line between "potential star player" and "important role, but will never be a star." Regardless, fun weekend. I'm almost tempted to get a John Scott All Star jersey. |
Cats getting some love on prime time tonight.
|
Whoa - brand new interface for NHL Gamecenter (now NHL.tv apparently). Hopefully it'll be a little more reliable on Roku now.
|
Think they just screwed me out of watching in Ubuntu... :cuss:
