I thought he was out, but I'm smart enough to realize that wasn't even close to conclusive. At all. And if I'm an Astros fan, I probably think he's safe

This shouldn't be a system where we "protect" the call from the ump. It should be a system where we take all the information possible to try and get the right call. This crap about conclusive evidence is a bunch of BS.

C3HIEF3S 07-01-2015 09:14 PM

90 mph ball falling to the right is catchable for infante, who has to cover the bag to his left, with a guy diving head first in the way while he also has to focus on applying a tag. I really don't think you understand the degree of difficulty. That play is made maybe 2/10 times

And you also think that every replay clearly showed that Salvy had applied the tag before Altuve touched the plate?

Jeter plays SS, so no

That's a much easier play for a SS to make because his momentum is going towards where Salvy threw it ... That's an incredibly tough play for any 2nd baseman to make

It would've been a nice play, but not anywhere as difficult as you dudes are making it out to be. It was either a shit drop or a play where he had his glove too close to the runner where the ball hit the runner/glove at a similar time and bounced out.

Frank White gets that out 17 times out of 20 if not moar.

Ned talked about him doing that a couple of days ago. With the Cain injury and resting of Perez he elected to sit him this series.

petegz28 07-01-2015 09:27 PM

This is a disappointing loss. I won't gripe about a 5-4 road trip but we had 6-3 in the bag. Our starting pitching this last series has sucked ass all the way around. Along with some nagging injuries. Hopefully this ends when we get back home.
