Perhaps, but 20 years ago, the ones taking the best routes were true pros. Anyone can compose a little music for reality tv ... But the great ones are pumping out the SportsCenter theme. Until Dane shows me proof he's that guy who composed the NBA on NBC music, I'm just not impressed. Reality tv!? Pssh

I can pick up a pizza myself, or even make it at home with a modicum of effort. I eat it maybe once a month, though.

Pizza drivers of old were badass ninjas, especially in Los Angeles with its crazy streets, hills and 18 foot wide streets. When I first moved here, I had a Thomas guide, just like everyone else and still constantly got lost. Hell, I still get lost 22 years later WITH GPS.

But I do take care of my pizza guys. I gave the Dominos guy $20 bucks on a $100 dollar order on Sunday at my 3 year old's birthday party at a nearby park because he had to carry all the pizzas 500 yards to the picnic area in 90 degree heat.

As for the music, you're right again. While I'm very happy to work, the guys that get the opportunity to create the theme song for iconic events, and CAPITALIZE on that opportunity, are awesome.

Composing music is not meaningless.

I was in the bathroom washing up and a crazy homeless guy (and unfortunately, they're in every park instead of getting help) said "Hey! Why are you sweating so much! Are you high? ARE YOU HIGH? Can you share?".

It put s damper on my spirits for a few minutes.

A lot of the people that I know who are self employed have only created themselves a job. It's usually a job that comes with moar stress than an average job.

Now if you are self employed and can take two weeks off at a time multiple times a year you have created something beautiful.
