agree with Buehler.....Roundabout are f-ing stupid. Any that they are building here are also too small.
Minnesotans cannot merge or do 4 way stops anyway-roundabouts make them worse..... |

I went through one last year that was far and away the biggest one I've ever seen. The middle of it was just open field, and I swear it probably had three or four acres of land in there. You could barely see the cars on the far side. |

We have two lane roundabouts, 35 all total where I live. They have signs at the entrance to let you know what each lane can do. Basically you treat it like a 4-way stop.
Two lanes approach, the right lane can go to the first or second exit. The left lane can go to the second or third exit. If everyone did this, there would never be a problem. However, those who don't know how to read signs, new people. They'll get in the right lane and want to go to the third exit, so they'll drive real slow all the way around the outside lane, not knowing they may get t-boned by a car on the inside lane at the second exit, and it will be their fault. Just remember, a 4-way stop, you wouldn't turn left from the right lane. Here's one, some have a bypass lane for those going straight and no need to enter the roundabout. We also have 73,000 privately owned golf carts. The Villages is 153,000 people now in an area of 32 square miles. Most golf cart paths will cross the entrance roads just before the roundabout, so you have this to navigate as well. For a community with the average age of 70, it's fun to drive here. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...r-way-like-jpg |

Camera - Fuji X-Cams - Use them at work daily, use them for fun occasionally. X-Pro-1 and X-E1 bodies, smattering of lenses. They are digital cameras, but they function much more like old school film cameras. Love them.
Camera Bags - Billingham, England. Enough Said. Binoculars - I use Canon Image Stabilizing Binoculars every day at work, and they are WONDERFUL. If you don't need that, I love the Redfield Bincoculars I purchased a few years ago, wonderful optical clarity. Wristwatch - Tudor Black Bay Steel - Fantastic wristwatch. COSC Chronometer rated, In-House Movement, Excellent Bracelet. It's a daily tool, not cheap, but has served me very well for the last few years. I recently started a thread on the Omega Speedmaster my wife purchased for me for our 11th Anniversary. I love that watch, I have been wearing it ever since I got it, but the Tudor is a great do it all tool watch. Wallet - Maxpedition Spartan. Legit. Firearms - The new Smith and Wesson 586 Classic is a very nice revolver. It has the "Hillary Hole", but the bluing and action are still very good. I am also partial to my HK USP 9. As far as scopes, I have owned Leupold, Nightforce, Bushnell and SWFA. I have bought and sold stuff, but my current stuff is sporting Leupold and SWFA optics. Fishing Rods - Fenwick. You can get a great rod for around $100.00. Fishing Reels - Shimano Calcutta. Enough Said. Wrenches - SK. You can still buy SK stuff online, and their long pattern wrenches are fantastic and comfortable to use, without the Snap On Price. Ratchets - Cornwell USA. EXTREMELY UNDERRATED! Pocket Knives - Spyderco. I have a few Benchmade's and Kershaw's. I still love my Spyderco the best. For fixed blade knives, I love my Randall's. |
I’ve been reading the title of this thread wrong for a long time. I never opened it because I thought it was a crazy concept to pay for a “podcast” when there are so many free ones out there.

When I was a kid my dad would take to the barber and get a buzz cut. After I got out of the Army in '72, I've been cutting my own hair and for the most part, it's not that difficult. Of course in the 70's and 80's long hair was the style. Nowadays I keep it normal length and I've never had to use the professional style trimmers. I found by doing a small amount of touch-up every few days, it stays about the same and a beard and mustache trimmer is all you need. My latest is this Remington I bought at Walmart for about $30 probably 7 years ago. I leave it plugged it, it's rechargeable.

"Meater"
I didn't buy it, got it for Fathers day and left it in the drawer ignored for almost two months. I already had a meat temp system for smoking that I have had at least 10 years and didn't see the value in this "meater" just like new dual systme my wife gave me for Christmas that I have ignored, still. I decided to try "meater" on my ribeye steaks a week ago, amazing. Wife's med rare was perfect and so was my medium. Had ribeyes again tonight, same result, perfection. No guesswork in steak perfection any longer! |

What else do you guys got? Anything cool we can't live without?
Anyone purchase the lawnmower manscaper shaver that i see advertised on youtube all the time? Seems like a group of people that regularly shaves their balls. |

We've been using grocery delivery, and there have been substitutions on occasion. I ordered a brownie mix, and they substituted this gluten free mix. I don't need gluten free stuff, but whatever.
We baked the brownies, and they may be the best food that has ever touched my mouth. We've since ordered them two more times and they're on our permanent list. My wife loves them as well. https://www.instacart.com/landing?pr...RoCmQ4QAvD_BwE https://d2d8wwwkmhfcva.cloudfront.ne...5330a5a0b.jpeg |
This is a pretty specific thing, but we're all locked down and bored, and I enjoyed the eff out of it this past weekend.
A while back, I bought a couple of graters, Cuisipro Accutec. https://cdn10.bigcommerce.com/s-pi6t...0.1280.jpg?c=2 https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....MZ0CL._AC_.jpg I use the coarse grater pretty regular for cheese, but never really used the fine much. Decided to make scratch carrot cake, and the coarse grinder was great for grinding fresh carrot. Did a pound in about 2 minutes. But the fine really shone, grinding fresh nutmeg from nut, and fresh cinnamon from bark. I love carrot cake, but have always been intimidated by how rich and complex it looked, like I would try to make it and make a total mess without a great result. But this could not have been easier, nearly as easy as a box mix. |

Frozen chicken wings from start to finish that end w/ nice crisp skin in about 10 minutes. Damn nice when I feel like going home for lunch. Makes really good breakfast potatoes/casseroles as well. Spaghetti is surprisingly good in it, just using the basic instapot features on it. Have only had 1 real miss and that was the mac and cheese recipe it came with. Tried a different one as well and ultimately there's just no benefit to be found there. It makes veggies a little softer than I prefer so I just roast them instead. Ultimately you combine that guy with my Breville toaster oven and a single-station induction top I got for tailgates and I can pretty much cook anything without using my stove/top at all. If that thing went out on me, I could do a full thanksgiving dinner without batting an eye. |

I was looking for a new weed trimmer and saw this electric one from Ryobi:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ON...2080/206451828 I thought **** it, it uses the same batteries as the one for my drill and Miter Saw so I'll try it out. This little thing is awesome! Lighter than my old gas power craftsman. Trimmed and edged just as well as it did too on a battery! |

We have 3 kids so we got the big one just to be safe. Honestly, sometimes it's still a little on the small side. The problem is that the round shape just doesn't yield as much usable surface area for some things. Works great for casseroles and such but you can crowd it pretty quickly if you're trying anything bigger. I just didn't know what I'd need to I wasn't gonna risk ending up with a useless appliance to save $100. I got the biggest we could get to give the whole idea as good a chance to succeed as possible. |

1. Honeywell black 3 speed desk fan for about $15 at Walmart. I use it everyday
2. Alpine Swiss light brown card holder for my credit cards, discount supermarket cards, license, business cards, some photos and receipts/lottery tickets. I NEVER have carried money in a wallet, always in my front left pocket and car keys in the right. 3. My Timberland Kiaweh boat shoes. Wear them about 4-5 days a week. 4. My worn out black gym/duffel bag I bought in 2008 to hold all the towels that I sold during the Obama/McCain POTUS rallies. Bag has been incredible and while it only has a short time left I have used it several thousand times since 2008 for a variety of items. 5. A 6" trifold Mallaird memory mattress for guests at $149. Nothing has ever held up like this and it's as soft and in the same shape when I bought it. I had to sleep on it for 6 months when my mattress wore out and I was moving. Beats stupid air mattresses by miles and miles. 6. My Kansas City Chiefs gear; red NFL polo with logo, a red basic KC baseball cap, my Super Bowl Champs T shirt and my wall hanging in my office of a bottle cap that says KC Chiefs est 1960. |

Viable justification for buying a dewalt duo kit when I got home and I kept the driver for times when my dewalt batteries die mid-project and I need a placeholder for an hour or so while waiting for my batteries to charge back up (I like having both my ratched driver and my regular driver loaded and ready so I'm not switching back and forth; should just invest in some drill/drive attachments - but when you're firing through pilot holes and screws, you can suck both those batteries dry pretty fast). But ultimately I just asked too much of it. They're also a little more haphazard in their design. The ratchet, for instance, tries bit 'jumps' when it's ratcheting instead of the smaller, faster jumps on the Dewalt and Milwaukee I have. So it's less precise and more prone to tear out. It's also bulky as hell; just a big tool so it doesn't fit into some tighter spaces. You can tell where they saved money in their design - it's just not as thoughtful or robust. I burned up a reciprocating saw the same way - tried to do a little too much tree work with it and it just gave up the ghost. They are affordable and viable consumer grade tools, but they become throwaways if you work them like a contractor. |

Side note regarding that 18v One-touch line. You can find some really reasonable knock-off battery packs that work with them online.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VBS31GK...NsaWNrPXRydWU= $60 for a pair of the 5.0 Ah high capacity batteries when the Ryobi branded ones will cost you $145 for a pair of 4.0 Ah ones. Now the former is probably a little overrated but it's still at least the equal of the latter when all is said and done and costs less than 1/2 as much. |
I Have a shitload of chargers everywhere in all my machines. This is the best cable tie I’ve found. You roll it up tight on the wire, it Velcro’s to itself then when you’re ready to Roll up the cable it Velcro’s to the backside too. Good quality velcro and build quality. and 50 of the bastards for $8 is where it’s at. I’ve tried a bunch of different shit and this is where I ended up to keep charger cables (and any other cables) tied up.

Also my buddy kiped me a QI charging pack. Which is well and good but what really use it for is in lieu of a charger cord at night. It’s so much easier to get it on the charger in the dark when all you have to do is hit the block rather than find the cord that invariably falls behind the nightstand or under the bed. :cuss:
It works well as a mobile charger sure but it really shines as a nighttime charger. I see there are QI alarm clocks and whatnot which is the direction I will go when this shits out down the road. https://i.imgur.com/Zy6umvt.jpg |
