I still don’t think he’s more than a poor man’s Baker. But it’s not like I’m willing to bet on Trask either. |
But Corral very well could be a top 10 pick depending on which teams fall in love with him vs. other prospects... So he's exceptional value at 52!
From what I've read, I think the Steelers like Sam Powell and Carson Strong. |
Just thinking out loud about something unrelated, but could you imagine if the Steelers replace Rothlisberger with Desean Watson with all the allegations?

Dammit I just noticed the Dolphins stole my Bills pick. Hall arguably was the best RB in CFB during his time at ISU. Allen with a competent run game would be next level unstoppable.
|
I feel really dirty taking all these fatties.
This is a classic Raiders move. Take the **** massive 380 lber. You can see Al's creepy ass skull grinning through the grave with this one. The Las Vegas Raiders select Daniel Faalele, OT, Minnesota |
The New England Patriots select Damone Clark, LB, LSU.
Two players on the board right now I feel like I could and should take, and have no business being there, but one isn't a need and the other isn't what I'd call their "type" at the position. Meanwhile, Clark is a prototype LB for today's NFL, in my opinion, and can help fill one of the voids the Pats have at either MLB or SLB. |

I also wouldn’t be surprised if 3 of them are gone before he’s up. |
I'll have my pick here in 15 minutes.

The Arizona Cardinals select Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC
Chandler Jones is gone and this team is desperate to replace his production. |

Good pick and good fit.
|
Stephen Jones steps up to the podium and takes a deep breath. He glances off to the side and is seen mouthing "Now, daddy?" Jerry Jones, off-stage, nods maniacally.
"Well, we're looking for winners here, as my daddy said a little bit ago. Right daddy? (deep sigh) "The Dallas Cowboys are gonna take Nicholas Little Brother. I mean, uh, that is Nicholas (looks off stage, mouths "pe-tit fer-air") Petit-Frere Jacques. I Mean, Nicholas Petit-Frere, OL, Ohio State. |
The Bills D line is absolutely filthy!
Buffalo Bills Select- Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama |
Another potential Chiefs pick.

A couple guys on the board that are just WAY to perfect for them. That said, there are 4 or 5 I think I'd be pretty happy with so it would be really tempting for me to let the board come my way. |
Agreed.

The Atlanta Falcons select Travis Jones, DT, Connecticut

Do we think the NFL will announce comp picks here in the next 40 minutes as a weekend news dump… or will we be forced to wait until Monday/Tuesday?

Especially since Rain Man is blind and crippled now.

I have hobbled onto the scene now. Give me a bit and I'll pick.
|
The Green Bay Packers select Logan Hall, DT, Houston.
|
Thanks for completely ****ing the Chiefs there bro.

But he’s not a pass rusher, which still sucks. |

DeMarvin Leal, IDL - Texas A&M |
Quote:
And it would go a ways to salvaging Tamba’s draft and at least give Vatch a clear path forward in FA. |
Quote:
|
Also, didn’t realize Leal was still on the board too.

Top 30-35 player in my opinion |
I have three players I want and can't decide
|

Dude. If he’s still there, there is a CLEAR answer on the board. |
I see a safety
|
Ohhhh SEC
|
There's 2 terrific picks for the Chiefs.
|
There is a safety who very well could be the Chiefs first round pick still left on the board.
|
Damn thought I'd get my pick in before bed
|
The San Francisco 49ers select - Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan
|
The Kansas City Chiefs select Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
|
Cincinnati Bengals select Jalen Wydermyer, Tight End, Texas A&M
Was hoping more OL value or even inside defensive line would fall. In any case, Bengals add another weapon for Joe Burrow. |

I mean in a vacuum, it's an AWESOME set of players to add to this defense. You've now added 2 more physical, athletic, kinda mean players to the defense. So now you have Bolton, Gay, Lloyd, Cine, Sneed and Thornhill who are all fast, active, willing hitters with a mean streak and a nose for the football. That sounds like a hell of a lot of fun. What it also does, though, is probably take Ward off the table because now your FA money absolutely has to go to the DL. There's nothing you can add in this draft that will move the needle there at this point. It's really sorta hemmed us in as to how to go forward. There are still some WRs, CBs and OL that are likely to add some value in the 3rd round. Some RB talent as well. But DL has been stripped bare (or will be by the time the 3rds come up). I mean there's no question Tamba has gotten huge value on both of these picks. Both guys are likely to go anywhere from 5-20 picks before he got them. So there's a lot to like about that. It just means that we've pigeonholed the rest of the off-season, that's all. And that's not the end of the world if managed well. Really an interesting approach and not an indefensible one. Not the way I'd have gone (because Cine falling this far seems fairly unlikely), but one that can easily be pulled from the fire and lead to a really exciting team next season. Especially since both of these guys play positions/styles that will allow them to hit the ground running and make immediate impacts. Way to get it back on the rails, Tamba. |

The Bucs use a lot of hybrid fronts so Hall's extra versatility would be more beneficial for them in that regard. But I won't complain about Leal here either. Honestly I'm pretty sure Staylor knocked him down about 15 spots in this draft. I think he's a guy that's going to contribute in this league and at the back of the 2nd he was an awfully good snag. |
And now I have to do some pretty deep diving because any of the homework I've done really only goes 4-5 rounds deep. I just don't care much about 3rd day picks because they're all lottery tickets. I'm not going to pretend like I have the necessary intel to really sort them out.
I have like 20 guys left I know anything about. |
Guys, I’m busy today, but i will have round 3 up tonight and make the first pick if kccrow has his in by then.
|
The Denver Broncos select Nik Bonitto, EDGE, Oklahoma
Given that my 1st rounder really doesn't count for Denver at this point, its back to the drawing board. Evero said that Denver will be sticking with the base 3-4 Fangio had employed, making Bonitto an excellent fit opposite Chubb. |
Was holding onto the pipedream that Bonitto would last to the 3rd for the Vikings
|
3rd round is up!
The Jacksonville Jaguars select George Pickens, WR, Georgia |
Damn is everyone just busy 24/7 on the weekends lol
|
Likely a not issue, but apologies in advance if I'm a log jam tomorrow (not sure how quickly it will move):
I won't be able to make pick 78 until after midnight or Tuesday morning. Starting a new job tomorrow and won't risk being the guy on his cell phone day 1, have a team lunch scheduled, and then am attending a concert with the wife in the evening. We are too far out for me to forward anyone a list of pick preferences right now. |

The Detroit Lions select, Carson Strong, QB, University of Nevada
|
The NY Giants select Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State.
|
C'mon Tit - I've talked myself into and out of about 7 different guys over the weekend. Can you just make a pick so I can go ahead and **** this up?
Man the board's starting to look weird. |
Houston Texans select: Wandale Robinson, WR, Kentucky
|
Ugh.
I was really hoping one of you guys would take this dude so I could congratulate you on making a good pick and not have to take him myself. The Jets select: Tariq Woolen, CB - UTSA He's so damn raw and may be out of the league before his rookie contract is up. He could go in the top of the 2nd or at the bottom of the 4th. I really can't read him much at all. But those attributes just don't come along very often. And he's raw because he's just learning the position. Meanwhile he's demonstrated some awfully good aptitude for the position and while I got a steal in Booth for the Jets earlier, it's not like the Jets have a ton of depth anywhere. So with a team so clearly in need of talent just about everywhere and not under immediate pressure to win right away, I just have to stockpile as many potential blue-chippers as I can get. There are MUCH smarter, more rational picks on the board here. Guys who could probably contribute on Day 1 and have significantly higher floors. But man I just can't pass on this athleticism and length. Especially when the guy has shown a willingness to get his nose dirty despite just recently making the conversion to defense. |
The Jacksonville Jaguars select Cade Otton, TE, Washington
|
That's a lot of talent for the Jets.

Did the same thing at a couple other positions as well. I said all along I didn't study deep into this draft and I'm starting to notice it. After about 75 players I'm pretty much pulling names out of a hat. |
Quote:
I just don't see how they can spend their top pick on a LB two years (almost 3) in a row. |
Ryan Poles struts back up to the mike.
"Hey, ya'll. You know what I've learned? The name. Of the game. Is SPARQ and RAS. Are they athletic freaks who just leap up at you? And hey, let's be honest. This is my first year. If I'm gonna swing for the fences and have some cover since it's my first draft as a GM, let's do it on guys that have huge upside, and not waste it on not athletic turds whose main highlight tape consists of them making landshark head fins with their hands." (Cut to Brett Veach in the audience, seen mouthing "Ouch, bro. Ouch. Dick move!). The Chicago Bears select Troy Andersen, LB, Montana State Top that, Seahawks! |
Anderson was one of the guys I talked myself into with that pick over the weekend.
Man he's an intriguing guy. And at worst he'll be a special teams demon for 4 years. His floor just seems so high. |

I'd much rather have him/round3 than Lloyd in Round 1 (sorry, Tampa Berry. Not trying to beat you up. JMO). |
Quote:
It seems to be a pretty good year for athletic LBs. Though in Tamba's defense, the guy he got I think can play more of a SAM role and most of these mid-round guys would be stretched there. Purely as a Niemann replacement, we should have no shortage of options. Just off the top of my head, even after Anderson comes off the board, I can see 6 guys that could fill that role nicely and a couple more that could probably do it but would need some coaching up (the traits are there, but not the experience). It shouldn't be a problem. Though it kinda does give a fair amount of credence to Duncan's opposition to a 1st round LBer. |
Will pick in ~45 mins
|
The Seattle Seahawks select Dylan Parham, IOL, Memphis
|
The Indianapolis Colts select Kingsley Enagabre, DE South Carolina
Colts need a pass rush other than Buckner. They hoped one of the top edge rushes would of fallen but are happy with Enagabre. |
The Atlanta Falcons select Jalen Tolbert, WR South Alabama
|
The Denver Broncos select Brandon Smith, LB, Penn State
The Broncos continue to fill their defensive holes. Let's just hope this doesn't really happen... Smith is one of my favorites at the position in this class. |
The Baltimore Ravens select David Bell, WR, Purdue.
