Anybody want to make a fun little wager about trading up for a WR?

Probably a 2nd rounder, but I don’t know if he’s a fit because he’s small.

Like the player though.

Nothing of actual consequence. Maybe an avy bet or something.

Projected as a day 2 pick from what ive seen. I kind of like his OU counterpart better.

Mr. Kotter 04-28-2022 01:02 PM

If this happens, I'll be smiling...

Round 1, #29 - WR, Dotson
Round 1, #30 - DE, Ojabo
Round 2, #50 - S, Pitre
Round 2, #64 - CB, Armor-Davis

RunKC 04-28-2022 01:03 PM

Gonna shoot my shot: I think our first pick is not an Edge. I think we trade up for a corner first.

Then I think someone like Boye Mafe will be in range for 30. I really think they’ve got a handful of edge rushers but only a few impact corners on their board

Edit: brainfart. Corner not receiver first!

Sure. Let’s say a month of AVY use?

Man those "falcons made my career" comments he made still piss me off to this day. It wore off a little seeing him celebrate the SB win against the whiners on the sidelines. Tony G will always be a chiefs legend and I am glad he chearleads the team now.

I'd rather Marcus Allen announce Chiefs pick than an Atlanta Falcon pick ours.

Marcus Allen finished his career as a Chief and scored his 100th touchdown against the Raiders.

Oh yeah Al Davis tried to bury Marcus Allen in the depth chart but couldn't keep him off the field he would play Full Back and block for Bo Jackson.

Listening to Sirius radio and they just had their rumors up for different teams:

Chargers: really want a WR but also love Drake Jackson. It depends on how the board falls. People really think Drake Jackson could be picked by them. They’ve shown a ton of love for the kid. Also really like Jameson Williams and Chris Olave

Broncos: they want a pass rusher or RT first and will trade up to get it. Rumored to love Nick Bonito. Also look out for Luke Goedeke.

Raiders: secondary, secondary and more secondary. They need it and think the 3rd and 4th rd will be plentiful there. They’ve had many visits and talks with corners and safeties

Chiefs: they want an edge but the question is which one? Boye Mafe is well known but they have spoken to Karlaftis and Drake Jackson who they really like. Corner is going to be a focal point too. They said Veach loves the depth but also the top after the first 3 guys. Mentioned Gordon and Booth as natural fits.

Veach is absolutely in the market for another weapon and likes a WR that will be available in early rd 2 and wants to get him.

Don’t shoot me I’m just the messenger here. The guy Veach really wants early 2nd rd apparently is…

Spoiler!

Tribal Warfare 04-28-2022 02:36 PM

FFS, the media's wishing WR Chiefs trade up, because scoring 30+ points the only way the Chiefs can win.

Trading in the 1st round is the only way to do it

In the 2nd round? Sure. Right after he gets Karlaftis and Gordon. He’s not the WR I want but I’m more apt to take him in the 2nd. Hopefully someone snipes us for him before Veach gets a chance.

He needs to sit in the front row of that finance class they make all rookies take.

Do you really think they're going to draft more than one WR in the first four picks?

I would not take Sauce. Way too full of himself. He will command a lot of babysitting like Peters.

They just need to draft hits like last year bc getting guys Hardman, Gay and Clyde with this many picks would be an abject failure

Pretty much mandatory personality trait if you wanna play CB in the NFL.

Makes sense, and honestly surprised they are considering going that high.

Really thought the Patriots at 21 would be the spot.

EDIT: I think I read that wrong. They DON'T want to move into the Top 15 due to cost.

Veach is trying to bargain bin shop for that top 15 pick.

Watch us snipe the Chargers for Drake Jackson and everyone flip.

Rasputin 04-28-2022 02:58 PM

Chiefs can give ammo for Phily to move up and Chiefs take Phily 15th spot. I wouldn't trade up if not Edge.

I would definitely take him. He’s got pretty much everything you’re looking for in a corner. I love his ego. You have to have confidence to excel in the nfl.

Veach draws the line at 15. That sounds wise.

I wouldn't either. We need edge far worse than WR or CB. We need CB worse than WR as well.

The Franchise 04-28-2022 03:02 PM

I'd give up #30, #103 and a 3rd next year to move up with New Orleans at #19. Draft Karlaftis and then New Orleans doesn't have to worry about getting sniped by anybody at 30. They can either take a QB at 16 if they feel comfortable...or they can take one at 30.

They talked to those teams about not paying the premium…but they talked to them.

I’m betting that Veach has 2-3 deals in place in the top 15 with teams that won’t require as much of a premium to move down with KC if a player Veach likes starts to slide.

Probably called Mayhew in Washington since they only have 2 top 100 picks and 3 in the first 4 rounds offering to give them more ammo but not overpay

Sassy Squatch 04-28-2022 03:03 PM

Good for him. Less experienced Veach sells the farm for a player he just has to have.

Carolina and Washington would be my best guesses.

Spoiler!

Sounds really good, I like it. Veach has the plan.

Sassy Squatch 04-28-2022 03:06 PM

IF that news about Watson being the WR target is true, wonder just how much our RedZone offense struggling at times has to do with our seemingly newfound fascination with big boys like Watson and MVS.
