Only questions on the Oline heading into the postseason and Super Bowl were the tackle positions. Makes sense the Chiefs would want to upgrade both, especially after Mahomes got hurt.
If they land Tunsil, I'd imagine an elaborately enveloped order was sent down from the quiet Don Clark Hunt to his top assassin Brett Veach and it simply read "LVIII". |

Keep posting boys. We’re going to will this into existence.
|
Bengo: "We need to get better at Offensive Tackle."
Chiefs: "Oh yeah, you do. Hey, look, there's a free agent RT who would be perfect for you guys..." Bengo: "Jawaan Taylor? I know!!!" Chiefs: "Yeah, I'm going take that." Bengo: "That's a lot of money. Are you sure he can play LT for you?" Chiefs: "Remember how we were talking about trading for Laremy Tunsil?" Bengo: "Yeah, but you can't do that now, obviously, right? "Right? "Right? "Chiefs? Chiefs, are you still there?" Chiefs: "Oh, hey, sorry. I was just wrapping up the trade for Tunsil. Texans gave him to us for a 3rd this year and next. Can you believe those idiots? Bengo? Bengo, are you there?" Bengo: "I'ma... I'ma.... I'ma gonna go watch some highlights of the 2021 AFC Championship Game, OK? Bye." |
So basically, we went from “**** it, Tyreek down there somewhere” to “**** it, someone will get open eventually and no one will be within 3 yards of me anyway”
|
The peoples of other NFL teams do not like trading their guys to the Chiefs. They all be wearing rings the following winter.
|
You could essentially say "We're gonna lock up the best two tackles we can and we will add to the interior as we go via the draft, which is usually easier".
|
Man, if this happens…I can’t wait to read the Chiefs haters.
“Rigged” “Salary cap is a myth” “Cheaters” And of course, the delusional fan who thinks the Chiefs will fall apart any second now: “Look at those stupid Chiefs investing their money in QB, OT, and Pass Rushers while drafting cheap quality DBs, LBs, and Receivers. Chargers are taking the West. Bengals to the Super Bowl.” |
Wait, wut?
|
While this would be cool, I'm still skeptical. I guess I'll believe it when I see it.
Also, it is L'Jarius SNEED, not Snead. |

Texans ESPN reporter says deal is dead, they are not shopping Tunsil anymore.
|
I'd guess one of them was option 1a and one was 1b and they moved how they did.
It just doesn't make sense to do a trade now, considering they need to fill some other holes IMO. |

Texans beat reporter. |
I don’t think it will happen, but it’s not really dead until he signs an extension or gets traded somewhere else.
Could just be a negotiation tactic. I still have very little faith this will happen, but “not actively shopping” doesn’t equal “dead”. |

Edit: Sorry for some reason I can't figure out how to post a tweet....Anyways it looks like this DJ person could just be responding to a tweet by Matt Verderame that the Chiefs plan to play Taylor at LT. SOOO could still be on the table for a Tunsil trade! |
We absolutely could still be in the market for Tunsil or any LT really because the Taylor contract is a Veach special. I fully expect him to restructure the agreement each year to bring the cap number down (it’s only $6mm this year and with future restructures would be $12mm in 2024 and $21mm in 2025 — essentially eating up the $40mm guarantee). You then face $21mm in dead money or extend him and do it all over again. Bottom line is there is plenty of potential cap space to bring on Tunsil and pay out a $20mm avg salary because the Taylor contract won’t be anywhere near a $20mm avg (more like $13mm/year).

No clue what this means, he just posted it and doesn't post a whole lot. His last post was retweeting Mahomes 2 days ago. |

It’s either the H-Town sign. Or…. He’s spelling out “CHIEFS”, but intentionally out of order to confuse people. This is going to be so freaking epic. |

I can't imagine this guy wouldn't want to come to KC over rebuilding in Houston

solidifying the line so he has no more bad injuries accumulating into his 30s would set the franchise up better for when his body finally does start to deteriorate in his mid 30s patrick has now had three pretty bad lower body injuries and played through all three, you'd like to stop the accumulation of issues there before something really bad happens thank god nothing has gone wrong with his upper body |

No way Veach is still chasing Tunsil. we've got our LT at this point, and our RT in Niang. I think he'll draft a OT prospect (wright?), maybe sign a vet journeyman OT, and Andy will roll with that. No sense wasting more resources for another $20M/yr OT.

When you watch the All-22 of the SB you can see that our guys were clamped up that game too. If a guy got even a little open, Mahomes found him. It's a testament to his greatness, but people who only know how to read a stat sheet will never understand it. He took everything the defense gave him that day, didn't leave a scrap on the plate. But the reeruns will still go, "herp derp 200 yards". |

Based on the feed dtrain shared, Aaron Wilson seems pretty adamant that the two sides have spoken about Tunsil to KC but he's not sure if that will culminate in a deal. With Veach, I won't rule it out. In fact, if there's that much smoke I would lean more toward Veach trying to get it done than not.
I'm going to channel my inner Clay. The deal is done for LB Willie Gay, 2023 2nd, 2023 4th, 2024 1st, and 2024 4th. Because why the **** not. |
I'm not sure I want to spend draft capital when we already gave decent money to a guy who'd be RT if it happened BUT... our OL would be completely insane. Mahomes wouldn't get touched all year lmao
|
How high does Tunsil rank in the league OTs?

I wouldn’t be all that mad if we made that deal.
Tunsil is the best pass blocking OT in the nfl. His presence upgrades the entire offense and adds a force multiplier to an offense with a few force multipliers already and we still have first this year. That could legit be the best OL in NFL history. |

He's apparently not far off, per the above article... 2024 1st Multiple high value picks A Player Instead of Gay, could also be Sneed potentially, but I'd hope for CEH. BUT doesn't he only have 1 year left on his contact in HOU, and doesn't he want a new top of market deal? ...Shouldn't that drive down the price some? If not, that's a pretty hefty price without seeing how the draft plays out first imo. |

Bart is so good he can trade away players who aren't even on our team :tinfoil:

But Ive gotta think it'd be less considering he condition of his contract |
I'm off this bandwagon since we signed Taylor. Our zero depth behind Toney, Skyy, and MVS is more concerning. We really need somebody or the WR core will collapse at the firse injury, which will be Toney.
