I doubt the Chiefs get rid of him assuming nobody is dead. He could be facing a suspension no doubt, but as a first offender how severe would it be? No way he’ll do jail time either.

neech 03-31-2024 07:51 AM

Maybe he can stop by CVS and get one of those drug testing kits to see if he passes or not. Before he gets the cuffs on him.

I'm sure his attorney is advising him on what do by now.

The incident occurred at around 6pm. It’s near 9am the next day. How do they prove he was drunk at this point?

Rice is somewhere calling every number in his cell phone looking for a fall guy.

They can't..

The NFL has proven to have no moral compass. Hunt situation taught us that. The Watson situation taught us that.

When the attorney and the DA start negotiations on a plea deal, the DUI charge will be one of the first charges dropped.

The big question is how serious are the injuries. That's going to be a large part of how big a punishment he gets.

Regardless of how this plays out, if the Chiefs weren’t planning on taking WR with their first pick they might be now. They’ll likely hedge against the possibility of not having Rice for some portion of next season, as well as assuming his behavior is concerning enough to indicate that another incident could come up in the future forcing them to part ways with him.

I went to all 4 of the Dallas TV websites about 15 minutes ago. Fox, ABC, CBS, and NBC. None of them even have the accident as a storyline. Nor the police looking for Rice.

He ain’t missing. It’s Easter Sunday and news will be slow. You can bet he already has contacted the team.

I’m not getting the craziness here. I saw a news report blurb on Twitter saying no serious injuries and only 1 person even hurt.

I know two different guys who've done this. One took out two telephone poles and a tree. Weren't at the scene.

Never a thing happened. "They didn't know their car was stolen."

Now, they were both scumbags with bad karma and ended up with different DWI's in the end but.....somehow both escaped being charged. And they weren't rich.

Good luck topping that camp entrance.

jjchieffan 03-31-2024 08:18 AM

The thing that occurred to me was Jalen Carter. Granted, his incident happened before he entered the NFL, but someone was killed in that incident but that didn't stop the Eagles from taking him in the top 10. But he's not going to jail. I would think that Rice won't face any jail time. But he'll get a suspension. 4-6 games I would assume, which will suck for the Chiefs. I would think that's worst case scenario. Best case is, he wasn't driving and can prove it. Not likely, but we can hope.
