I liked "Returns" as an homage to Reeve, although the babySupes storyline ruined it for me. Spacey was fine as Luthor, and Routh looked as close to Reeve as someone could.
I liked "MoS" as a reboot. I don't know why so many people dislike it. I mean, the character of Supes in the comics is basically a Boy Scout. To me, it balanced as well as it could, the hokeyness of the original films with a more modern questioning edge. The things people whined about at the end of "Mos"--namely, the destruction of the city and the killing of Zod--seem clearly built upon and explored in this film. Again, not sure why anyone is bitching. Batfleck barely appeared but seemed to channel his Inner Dark Bale just fine--again, better than I thought. Let's give it a chance, people. |

I have my doubts about this but nothing in that teaser was one of them.
I'm not a huge fan of Batflec but he didn't look/sound as bad as I'd figured. And I'm one of those guys not a fan of Supes due to his god-like power set. If this were just the DC Avengers I wouldn't care but it's Batman vs. Supes. This is a "normal" man vs. a god. It might just be enough to get a hater like me in the theatre while they introduce the JL... |

My only issue with MoS was that they killed Zod instead of banishing him. Michael Shannon was good as Zod, and would've been great to see returning in a later movie. The fact that they compromised the very basis of Clark's morality and made him kill Zod only compounded the failure. There were a zillion ways he could've stopped Zod from frying that family with his eyebeams. The neckbreak was just a copout. It didn't need to be done, it eliminated an awesome character, and pissed off the very fans that the movie was made for. Incredibly stupid blunder in an otherwise awesome movie. Most exciting origin story of any superhero film Ive seen. I completely understand the disdain for the killing of Zod, and don't begrudge anyone that refuses to forgive that. Ive seen firsthand my favorite superhero's story get destroyed when Sam Raimi completely undid "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility" when he made the Goddamned Sandman the killer of Uncle Ben, instead of the thief that Peter couldn't be bothered to stop. All that guilt for nothing, Pete. Shit happens. Its pretty inexcusable to change something so huge for a character like that. This movie looks pretty cool, and as mentioned, Im just curious to see how they balance this out. Without Kryptonite, Supes should handily crush Batman in about ten thousand different ways. |

Seriously - Superman couldn't find a way to divert Zod into a less populated area? I get that watching 45 minutes of disaster porn is fun and all, but having a random family of four being the line in the sand for Supes to murder after that fight was a bit confusing. |
Has the plot leaked yet? Anyone have an idea what it'd be?

NOOOO CLARK, DON'T USE YOUR POWERS, BE SCARED, HIDE Should I have just let all my friends die? MAYBE  MoS was not inspiring or hopeful. I guess you can say "yeah but it was so badass, they punched each other throughout a city for an hour and a half before he snaps his neck!!" but that just puts it on the same level of Transformers or something. |

People seem to forget that as a hero, Supes in MoS is a newborn. He has to make some mistakes in order to become the Supes we know and love. JMO. |

1. Kryptonians are genetically designed to do one thing, but Jor-El is capable of kicking Zod's ass, riding a beast, being a scientist... 2. Krypton is straight out of The Matrix. 3. Jonathan Kent's death. 4. Lois giving up the alien story because Clark asked nicely. 5. Christ symbolism overload. 6. First kiss over smoldering Metropolis instead of saving people/writing the story. |
