So what I'm getting here overall, is that if Alex Smith somehow ends up in a Chiefs SB, and we win it all, he should STILL not get paid elite money, nor should he be extended as the de-facto starter for 5 years.

I'm groovy with that.

If we win the SB this year, and he wants to be made the 2 highest paid player in the nfl, yes we absolutely should walk.

Sanity!

As many here know I have backed Smith from the beginning. He keeps winning and continues to protect the ball, but he has sucked ass as of late.
I have pointed out his accuracy slump he seems to be in, and its not just deep balls we are talking about. He has missed way too many throws. Its really starting to irk me bad.
He was playing what I would consider acceptable for a stretch and now he has regressed imo. He needs to get it together. He's got 6 more days to do it in my mind.
I said I would give him till week 12 to have the O running at full blast. My confidence is dying. He has a chance to win me over the next three weeks, otherwise I'm off the train.
I'm not asking for huge stats. That's not gonna happen. I'm just asking for things he has to do keep winning the way he has in the past. His recent play is not gonna cut it.

Those GM's committed too much money to their non-Elite QB's and both teams are paying the price because their respective rosters are depleted.

The Ravens traded their best receiver, who was only slated to earn $6 million this year, and their passing and running game has suffered.

Oh bullshit. Signing Flacco to that deal didn't force them to release anyone.

Shit, they still had money for Dumervil and others...

O.city 11-11-2013 11:40 PM

They actually got Dumerville for pretty cheap, 5 mil per.

And iirc, they'd have had to give boldin a new deal.

O.city 11-11-2013 11:43 PM

Overthecap.com is a pretty cool website to check out, shows basically everything.

Crazy some things I've noticed. 9ers ilbs make 20 mil per.

Regardless, Brady has made guys off the street look like All Pro's.

Ryan hasn't. He's fumbled, he's thrown interceptions and his offense only scored 10 points this past week.

Never said he wasn't. His defense doesn't allow 28ppg

Really? So, they didn't get rid of Boldin because of $6 million dollar contract?

Again, really?

Would the Ravens be 4-5 this season if:

1. They let Flacco walk, saving $20 million towards the cap
2. Drafted Geno Smith/Mike Glennon
3. Retained Anquan Boldin
4. Had an additional $13 million in cap space to sign other players?

Or, would the Falcons be 2-7 if they had:

1. Let Ryan walk and saved $20 million towards the cap
2. Drafted Geno Smith/Mike Glennon
3. Had an additional $18 million in order to sign defensive players, a running back and added depth?

In the past three weeks, the Falcons have scored 13, 10 and 10.

Regardless, Atlanta didn't score a single point in the second half of the NFC Championship Game back in January, and only scored 2 points against the Giants in the 2011 wild card game.

That's the guy you're defending.

Out of their losses (21) since 2009, the Pats have given up 28+ in 12 of them (including playoffs).

Nobody.

New respect for Tom Brady. He's only making $1.5 mil more than alex per year.

BossChief 11-11-2013 11:53 PM

Matt Ryan has a total cap hit of 9.6 million this year, Dane.

Brady has been held to 6...
