KU fans should ask themselves who we'd get in June if Self left today. The pickings are much slimmer this late in the year. Most guys are done with recruiting and off to summer vacations and a few camps. I think ISU got a good candidate esp given the time and the fact they're not a premier program anyway

If a top job like Kansas opens up, people will come back from vacation and coaches already comfortable where they are at will pick up the phone. If you're a college basketball coach and a UNC, Duke, UK or Kansas opens up, that's the top of your profession right there. Completely different scenario than other schools.
