I'm still perplexed me why we extended Sorensen when we have Murray? Sure he had a good year, but he's horrible defending the run and with the 3 we have now, we can draft the 4th player in a deep draft.

Yup. I'd love to have Williams at single high, Berry in the box and Parkerroaming the field.

The fact that this kind of talent fell this far shows how deep this secondary draft is.

If I were Boss, I would have gone with a RB or TE. There were a couple really good options each.

Walter has him as the 54th best draft prospect
His highlight and lowlight videos look really really good

If I can grab a talent like that at the end of the third round and have a viable plan for him, I'll do it every single time.

Especially with injuries and the fact we play 3 safeties so much. With only 1 injury, KC would be bringing up a PS player who is far less talented.

Like I said, I was down to about 5 players for the pick and I'll talk about those players once they get selected.

Well, we all know Sac would have applauded.

I thought kccrow knocked his out of the park with the previous pick.

Really? For a potential third linebacker? Check this out:

The snaps counts from Sunday’s win at the New York Jets showed the Seahawks were in nickel defense (five backs in the secondary) 87 percent of the time, or 62 of 71 plays. Sixty-two snaps how many nickel back Jeremy Lane played, with cornerback DeShawn Shead playing all of them.

That means Seattle was in its 4-3 base defense -- with a strong-side linebacker -- just 13 percent of Sunday’s game. That’s how much Mike Morgan played. Morgan won the summer competition over Cassius Marsh and others to become the new starting outside linebacker after Irvin signed in the spring with Oakland. Marsh, a rush end in passing situations, got 26 snaps against New York.

Pretty much. No way Evans and Williams don't go higher in the real draft.

I had their order reversed for the Chiefs but not for the Broncos.

If both had made it to the Broncos, I'd have taken Evans over Williams because the Broncos need to look for life after Ward and Evans could fill that role nicely. Williams couldn't (and they have Derian Stewart playing FS with a nice new extension with Justin Simmons as his backup).

But for the Chiefs and several other teams, I like Williams more than Evans. I think Williams is the more unique player as a true centerfielder type so I could see him really jumping up the draft board if a team felt he fit what they needed perfectly. Then again, with a more specialized skill set, he could be a faller as well if nobody feels like they need to cover that hole right now.

It's just such a deep DB draft, it's hard to get a good feel of where these guys are going to go. I just think Williams fits perfectly with what the Chiefs do and Dorsey's "what will I need NEXT year?" philosophy.

I think you should watch the kid play. He's a 2nd rd talent.

I'm with you on Bowser. He's my favorite pass rusher after the first rd.

12 picks from now those options may still be there.

The Cowboys get the WR that they were hoping would fall to them. He'll start off in the slot for his rookie season and after experience and gaining a few pounds, could move to the outside opposite Dezzie. He is fast, runs crisp routes, and has excellent hands.

The Dallas Cowboys select Dede Westbrook, WR, Oklahoma.

The role the 3rd linebacker is supposed to play in Carroll's defense is to drop down as a pass rusher in nickel sets while his spot is taken by a DB. He also likes to maintain his "base" set more often than they did last season. Carroll likes having 3 guys on the field all in that same mould of DE/OLB that can either pass rush or drop out into coverage. It let's them run 3-4 concepts while maintaining a 4-3 "look." I wouldn't underestimate how much Seattle missed Bruce Irvin last year, even if Bruce Irvin wasn't as good as he should have been in that scheme.

OK that makes sense. Basically upgrading Cassius Marsh then?

Yup. The emergence of Frank Clark last year did wonders for them, but he's more of a long-term replacement for Michael Bennett than someone that can let them stay in nickel 85% of the time.
