To the earlier point, I do think the schedule eye test is a quick, dirty, and mostly effective way to evaluate a team.
To use CFB as a way to illustrate the disparity of schedules though, I do think the Bills' was pretty decent.
The Brows were a team from the MAC who look good on paper only because of their level of competition... clearly not an 11 win team, and perhaps a historically great example of the eye test (along with the only team they could have beat in the AFC side of the playoffs).
The Chiefs have an SEC resume, so you know they're legit.
And the Bills are that successful B1G team who lost to the only SEC team they played all season, and have a relatively decent schedule compared to say the MAC. They're here either because they belong here or because there aren't any better options, but you won't know for sure until they play each other.
And of course, the actual talent disparity isn't the same as CFB, but at the same time, there is a large difference between even beating up a 10 win team and beating a 14 win team.
