Mahomes has been there and done it multiple times. Until Lamar gets to the mountaintop then I wouldn’t get over your skis.

You’ve got a hell of a team but getting past a team with championship DNA like the Chiefs is a different animal.

Not that this is a guaranteed strategy, but not a single one of these guys had to start right away. Favre was the closest but he played in the league for a year and only became a starter somewhere early his 2nd season. Not many other teams these days who are going to sit QBs and let them develop on the bench. The Chiefs with Mahomes is about it. Everyone wants to throw a guy out there and "see what you have!" The Jordan Love out there right now is not the same guy we saw a couple years ago.

The idea of the Chiefs drafting the next rocket armed cyborg in 10-12 years to sit and learn behind Patrick F’ing Mahomes is an amazing proposition.

I was thinking about this today, because I got a Facebook ad for Saturday Night Live, and I've never heard the host's name in my life.

When I was a teenager, I knew everyone in pop culture. Everyone. They'd do the Oscars or Emmys or have an SNL host, and I knew who it was. Now the odds are less than 5 percent that I'll recognize a celebrity's name. What the heck was I doing as a teenager where I knew everyone, and what changed to make me clueless?
