Their greatest chance to get the #1 seed is to win this weekend and Pat gives them the best chance to win. If they get the #1 seed, the whole team gets a couple weeks to rest and heal. 2 weeks is greater than 1 game. The whole team is greater than just Mahomes.
The goal of any NFL season is to maximize opportunities to win a championship. That's exactly what they should do and it appears that's exactly what they're going to do.
It's all just probabilities. And the probability of maximizing this opportunity is far greater if Patrick plays this weekend.

Anyone that has watched this kid knows damn well if he's cleared by doctors, and ANYTHING of importance is at stake in the game, he's not sitting.
Moreover, we're activating Hollywood this game. He's gotta be pumped to get out there and get on the same page with him before playoffs.
I've seen some commentary that this is a meaningless December game and he shouldn't risk it.
This game is not meaningless. It is one of two games of the next three needed to secure home field and a first round bye.
Sitting out will be done in 2 weeks when we've beaten the Texans and Steelers, and our JV squad takes the field against the Broncos in an actual meaningless game with playoff seeding locked.
