The Royals could add Duensing to the active roster tomorrow (Tuesday). I can't see them letting a good left handed reliever get away. Wang's opt out isn't until May 1. He could start in Omaha and be called up if / when any pitching injuries happen in April.

Lol I definitely have it but watching us win a title 11 years ago was cool. At least we got that. We had a good 90 win season in '06 but missed the playoffs. Made it in '08. We're due to make it. We upgraded our infield a lot with Frazier and Lawrie. Rollins has had a great spring. Rotation top 3 is as good as there is. 4-5 suck. Pen is solid. Lineup will be better so we'll see. I still have KC as the favorite and can't understand why projections diss them every year especially in a weak AL.

How are y'all feeling? Good I'd imagine.

I've been looking at the 40 man roster. Without making a coinciding roster move, you're limited to Gore, Bonifacio, Eibner, Martinez, Starling, Cuthbert, Mondesi, or Tores. I've never heard of the last guy but he is on the 40 man roster. Guys like Merrifield, Decker, and Snyder are not.

Ned doesn't really play backup guys very often anyway so it's not like Gore would really be taking anyone else's playing time by being a pinch runner.

Yeah. It was like FOX wanted another Madison Bumgarner, but completely forgot that Harvey's team was down 3-1 in the series, and the series had already seen a pitcher throw a complete game. Anti-climactic as ****.

I'll admit, until last Thursday evening, I have not been paying much attention to the Royals, but now that my other boys in blue lost I'm ready to go. Have tickets to opening day on Tuesday (opening NIGHT is on Sunday) and have the Royal's Spring Training hat w/ the crown on top of the KC logo coming to me. Back to back to back World Series. Lets do this

I think they'll sit Vargas all season. He would possibly be ready to resume pitching in August/September, but it likely makes more sense for him to target 2017 as his return time.

It's better for the team, too, as it can claim the $6 million in insurance on him if he misses the whole year.

Sources: Royals seek payback for Noah Syndergaard pitch in World Series

Updated*March 29, 2016 11:12 AM
By*Marc Carig***[email protected]

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Perhaps it is nothing more than mind games, a ploy for intimidation. But multiple industry sources told Newsday that the Royals have been signaling their intent to seek retribution against the Mets on Opening Night.

It has been five months since Mets fireballerNoah Syndergaard added some spice to the World Series, when he fired a fastball well over the head of pesky leadoff man Alcides Escobar to begin Game 3, the only contest won by the Mets.

But apparently, neither time nor a world championship has quelled the lingering anger over the pitch, which*Syndergaard maintained was part of a plan*to establish the inner half of the plate.

The Mets open the regular season on Sunday night in Kansas City against the Royals.

Even if the Royals’ rhetoric turns out to be empty talk, the message has reached Mets officials though had yet to filter into the clubhouse.

Of course, a plunking in the name of revenge wouldn’t be out of the ordinary in such situations, especially since Syndergaard has embraced the furor that came in its aftermath. For instance, Syndergaard allegedly told Salvador Perez and other Royals players during Game 3 that the pitch had simply gotten away from him.

“I don’t remember saying that,” Syndergaard said this week.

The Mets are expected on Tuesday to announce their starter for the second game of the season-opening series against the Royals. And Syndergaard is likely to get the ball.

So I was at La Canfora's Twitter page catching up on the hate, and under "32 Followers You Know" this jumped out at me:

Holy shit. Has it been that long since he posted here?

I hope he is just off the grid, as opposed to no longer with us.

Sources: Royals seek payback for Noah Syndergaard pitch in World Series

Good. Payback's a bitch, and so is Syndergaard.

WilliamTheIrish 03-29-2016 10:54 AM

Who? Never heard of this Synderpretzel. We're the champs. That's good enough.

That's last October's news. Nobody gives a shit about the Mets, and nor should they. The Crown is in KC. End of story:)

i don't know if they are selling SRO tickets anymore, but when i bought those 2 or 3 years ago, they were around 25 bones. i'd imagine if available, they'll be more expensive.

Yeah, no reason to dredge up that crap again. We don't need this year to start up like last year did.

@dkurtenbach: The Royals aren’t the only MLB team with preposterous levels of righteous indignation, but it’s so phony coming from the champions.

It sounds to me like this is all coming from the Mets. We're too busy polishing our rings and raising our flags to worry about Spiccoli.
