if he half asses it, they will only lower his next contract even more.

If he does, he guarantees that NOBODY will give him the contract he and his agents are wanting. That being said, with how dumb his agents seem to be on this.... it wouldn't necessarily surprise me. The only future leverage he had was how crazy expensive his tag next year was going to be. Sitting out he loses that.

If Jones sits out until Week 8, then so be it. Minimize his cap damage, tag, and trade.

I have a hard time thinking Andy Reid will allow that to remain on his roster at a high number.

I’d bet on Mahomes breaking that yardage record and the Chiefs might break the scoring record too.

So basically it's a 2 year extension through 2025. Chris is probably wanting 3 years through 2026 with more guaranteed money. However, if he balls through 2025, age 31. He may be one of the exceptions that would get a huge 4th contract, probably not from the Chiefs, but somebody, would pay him. Aaron Donald signed his at age 31.

I think we would've won the Superbowl in 2018 if we had Spags. So I'm clinging to that. If we could get one play away from the Superbowl with THAT defense and Bob Sutton (by the way I wanted to call him Greg Robinson-that's how badly that man is seared into my brain), then surely we can get there with this one and Spags.

I will say the road is significantly more difficult now though, so this isn't 100% apples to apples and that part does concern me.

CJ is just being an idiot at this point. He's squabbling over 10m and is due to lose more than that by holding out.

If he shits away all that money he'll still be in the market for a big contract so halfassing it may not be the thing. He could want to show that he was worth the money. It could go either way I suppose.

Chris Jones just needs to get his big butt into the office and go to work. And at this point if it's the principle then he's completely ****ing up because we all know that when it comes to business making decisions based on principle is always a losing proposition.

He may be looking at it from an injury perspective. If the Chiefs are not going to extend him he does not want to play until he absolutely has to to lower his injury risk. Im grasping for straws just trying to understand what is going on in his dome

Plus, $10M now is worth more than $10M over the next 3 years.

Finance degree at work!

One of the NFL insiders is now saying that Jones isn’t looking for Donald money, but to split the difference between what Donald is getting paid and the around 24 million the other elite tackles are getting paid. If that’s true and he will sign for 27 or 28 million then the fault here is with Veach.

Andy is over this nonsense.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Andy Reid, just hours before the Chiefs&#39; practice, said this of Chris Jones: &quot;I don&#39;t know what his agenda is or when he&#39;s coming. ... I’m shocked your rep is red…..

Why is Veach going to cave at this juncture??

Skyy God 09-03-2023 11:20 AM

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jones bets against the Chiefs week 1 and is then suspended.
