There is so much content for $6. Poker Face is pretty decent. The Caley Cuoco murder thing is kinda fun.

But, they offer so many shows and movies, $6 is a really, really good deal.

Spoiler!

Also, I did get to continue watching the Sony Open golf tournament today when NBC switched their coverage away from it at 6 without having to go to the golf channel I no longer have.

No issues, and matter of fact, the picture quality was stellar

We were at The Rooster in Scottsdale; one TV was a full five minutes behind. On Patrick's long run into the red zone, the TVs buffered and we missed part of it.

We had a $2.85 surcharge on our bill. Don't care; we didn't have a reservation and some great people let us sit at their table, drink beer, cheer the Chiefs and have a great time.

It's a cool place and I considered calling them to ask if they'd get the game, but just watched at home.

In my limited experience, it fills up similarly to a sports bar in KC before a game, where you have to get there fairly early. Great to see in the desert.

It's even higher now that the numbers have settled. Looks to be about 4x previous peak and 10x normal search volume.

23 million streamed the game last night. It will happen again. Average wild card game last year was 25 million.

DaFace 01-14-2024 08:44 PM

They just said 23m viewers during the Lions-Rams halftime show, which makes it the most streamed event of all time. Looks like last year's wildcard games averaged 28.4 million viewers for context.

Still, I bet they're pretty happy about that for a first effort. Last year's Saturday night game only got 20.6m, though the game wasn't particularly interesting (Chargers @ Jags).

Even with sometimes questionable internet in a rural area I didn't even have 1 issue with lag or buffering at any time. I also enjoyed how they showed shots around the stadium during the TV timeouts when they weren't running ads.

displacedinMN 01-14-2024 08:55 PM

the big question is how many will dump it when the free month is over

Easy 6 01-14-2024 08:55 PM

Fine let them expand on this model, they'll never get a dime from me... I'd rather fight thru some constantly buffering shitshow than give in
