may be mentioned somewhere in here....but I just saw Hotel Rwanda last night. I know I know...from 2004. but hey...I just saw it. I didn't think I'd like it so I never watched it. I'm always teasing my wife for crying over movies. at a few spots I was crying like a little bitch. great great movie. my God the things people can do to each other is just appalling. wish I'd have seen this long ago. when I grow up I want to be Don Cheadle.

Such a great movie.

Just watched Parenthood with my girl last night. Its been since 1990 since I seen it. Liked it when I was a kid. Still pretty good after all these years.

I thought it was really great too. My 7 year old son and 8 year old nephew loved it.

Its probably not doing too well box office wise because its pretty old fashioned, but its got alot of action. This was the movie Indy 4 should have been.

I think it might do well because of the fact that it's old fashioned. It felt almost radical and edgy to see Tin Tin carrying a gun and firing off shots as well as brawling with adults.

heh, interesting point. Although, they never said Tintin's age, he was obviously a teenage boy. They could not have gotten away with that if it had been live action or set in modern times.

Because the Academy is bourgeois and a film about Mixed Martial Arts is going to get overlooked.
I personally thought it was the best film I saw in 2011.
Nick Nolte beasted that role.

Absolutely, incredible movie... a must see.

I had a chance to see Paul Rusesabagina at speaking engagement at a local college once & didnt go, i've always regretted it, i'm sure it would've been inspiring to say the least.

In case any of you are interested, my wife really liked a book called "Left to Tell" that was written by a girl who went through some harrowing experiences as she survived the Rwandan violence. It's a very religious book so if that kind of thing bothers you it's probably not for you.

Public Enemies is on USA.

How in the hell did I miss this movie? WTF was I thinking?

Gotta like Albert Brooks as a villan in Drive.

I saw John Nash (from A Beautiful Mind) give a lecture several years ago. He discussed math. 98% of people were expecting something, well, more interesting.

The Lincoln Lawyer was surprisingly good.

Right, but I was surprised that it didn't even make all that much money in theaters. Bad marketing?

I agree with you though...probably best movie I saw in 2011.
