Here is Alex's stats halfway through the season. Still no game over 300 yds passing and his accuracy PCT is way off.
I would give him a B-/C+ so far this year.
PROS:- He has made big plays with his feet
- INT's are low and some not his fault
- Will throw ball away rather than sack or INT
CONS:- Too many missed TD passes
- Accuracy questionable
- Not enough Bowe
- Not enough deep balls

Fair assessment. Plenty of room for improvement, and spotty line play. Accuracy on longer throws is a concern, but is it possible that could get better with getting more familiar as a team and the offense as they play together?
People flew off the handle when Green got here because we had the same issues with a spotty line protection, and he had the same struggles keeping the offense on the field, hitting his receivers, and had a lot more turnovers. Alex got the ball to at least 7 and it might have been as many as 9 different guys yesterday- that shows tremendous ability to quickly survey the field and get the ball to the right place. He obviously has to get more consistent on some of his throws. But, for how ever many passes he has been off the mark with to our guys, how many drops do we have that he got the ball to his guy and they simply didn't make the catch. If the 2 missed throws being discussed yesterday are fair criticism, then the same degree of critical opinion should be talked about our guys dropping balls.
I'll have to look it up, but I'm sure we are easily in the bottom third for dropped balls, and it would not surprise me if we were in the top 5 of teams with most dropped balls.
The focus of negative attention seems skewed to what Alex does and doesn't do, but so much less outrage by the lines inconsistent play, or missed blocks - even by jamal this year, and dropped passes seem to be totally overlooked for some reason- and just off the top of my head I know Charles is either 5 or 6 in the league alone for most drops of all players in the league this season.
